The Bruins wrestling with half its line up missing wrestled hard but lost to the host Comets. The meet started at 182 with Ben Goodson winning by forfeit. 285 Storm Adney then faced #8 ranked Evan Ellis. Storm looked good but Ellis caught him late in the 1st period for a fall.
106 Austin Moorman took an early lead after the 1st break. Then Eastern’s caught a cradle to pin Moorman in the 2nd. Brady Swartz lost another heartbreaker to Semi-State qualifier Blake Hicks. The Eastern wrestler made a takedown with 20 seconds remaining to win 9-7 at 126.
Braxton Strait at 132 and Brandon Barkdull at 138 won back matches by pin. Strait won in 2:34 and Barkdull went 3:59. In the final match actually wrestled Devon Kirkwood dropped his match to another Comet Semi-State qualifier Corbin Hetzner. Hetzner took the bout with a 3rd period fall.
Blackford gave up 24 points with 4 forfeit losses at 113, 152, 160, and 170.
In junior varsity action at 138 Dylan Funkhouser lost by fall. Melvin Hernandez won with a :40 pin to win his 285 bout.
