  1. It shows that year round trainging is the factor paying off more then any other factor. School size amoung other things do not corrilate nearly as much.
  2. Also they always say they are using facts but what fact have they used to actually show that class wrestling is benificial to our wrestlers progress in the college level. We are pretty well where we should be maybe a little ahead. I want one cold hard fact that proves its good for the wrestler.
  3. Downsides of class wrestling 1. More class systems will take away from the compitition at the state level. This especially hurts smaller schools with good individuals. Many of these teams can not schedule wrestling big schools because the team on a whole is not good enough competition. Thus some small school individuals only true competition comes in the state tournement. Cutting the talent to a quarter of the staters will hurt the college level wrestlers. 2. It doesn't help the people it claims to help. The supporters say there will be more exposure to small school wresters. If a wrestler is quality enough to wrestle at the college level the kids will either be sought out or the coaches should help to get the wrestlers name out it won't magically change because of class wrestling. I do understand kids may be staters as freshmen in weaker classes but that doesn't mean they are college quality. 3. They claim it will make wrestling numbers go up and smaller schools keep there programs. This may happen a little bit at the top of the smaller division but truth is these programs are already established. It will be the same for the bad programs and does not fix the system. 4. The supporters say there will be parity. States like ohio have bigger gaps then indiana has. 13 straight titles for the div I champs. 212 to 81 was the final score at state for the DII. Also the top three schools were 30 points ahead of the other teams at the DIII level. If it is not fair to wrestle bigger schools why would Y2 schedule them and wnat class tournements. If its not good for your team why do it? It makes no sense.
  4. an actual topic I agree with. I think one thing we could do is have volunteers talk to communities about RTC's. Promoting the youth wrestling will improve Indiana more then anything.
  5. Think about it by running this site he gets to pick the brains of the most powerful people in the wrestling community. Its the truth and I am tired of him pushing class wrestling.
  6. Y2J controlls the most powerfull board in all of indiana highschool wrestling. I think it is agenda driven and believe that he has scewed facts. I may rant a bunch but truth is i see change a coming and want to make sure it doesn't change because we will never go back.
  7. Fabio all you do is personally attack me. I am not that offensive I speak from my heart for my kids. I do not agree with class wrestling and I definatly do not agree with how Y2J has spoken about small schools.
  8. You do not know me or my situation so do not cast judgement over me. Karl i am tired of you treating me like a second class person just because i do not agree with you.
  9. That in no way says i hate small schools. If anything it says I respect what matre dei has done as a program and wished my own local program would work that hard.
  10. They probably would win 20 state they beat everyone most years and with less competition might as well get the engraver heating up.
  11. I think with the right programs they compete with everyone in the state like matre dei the best team in the state year in and year out. So do not change my words. I don't think our system is broke and matre dei delphi and yorktown prove that.
  12. Quit camparing football to wrestling one is a team sport entirely the other has an individual aspect. The individual wrestler benifits from better competition thats why we shouldn't change it. You cut the wrestler in both classes competition down.
  13. Is 24% actually good for the states competition? Did you just move matre dei and yorktown out of your division Y2? Trying to find anyway possible to win i see. You make me sick. Why downgrade individuals competition unless its to make yourslef look better
  14. I would imagine the numbers would be close to the same ammount of teams if we switched to a class system. Yorktown delphi and matre dei every single year. He said they did not like wrestling as much as basketball football he implyed it. Truth is he states what I do he says the community makes the program.
  15. Its contradictory. He said the youth programs are what they do better but then he said the community doesn't matter. It takes a community to run a good youth program.
  16. Delphi made it to state if they work hard they proved they can be successful with the current system.
  17. This year maybe but year in and year out matre dei wins by twenty points on both the teams. Matre dei beats all schools by that much half the time.
  18. This year it may have been close but of the past 13 they would have had one shot only. Also yorktown was like 3 points from going to state there there. I already stated it will be a two team race.
  19. So you say a state title by an individual is unobtainable from a small school wrestler? On the team side what goal are you going to have the best team in the state year in and year out is in your division.
  20. I will take 9 timer matre dei by 20 every year in the small division. Followed by yorktown. The other squads not even on there level.
  21. coughlin had several tough matches at the state level. Especially early in his career. Why can't you just admit a simple fact compitition is helpful to wrestlers and in a classed system there would be less compitition? Is that true? I just want a one word answer.
  22. Population is millions enrolment is hundreds. There are also more teams in higher populated states and so on and so forth. The only stable thing is 14 wrestlers per team in 14 wieght classes. State size should give us an indicator. Iowa a way less populated state has way more college wrestlers per capita. This is because there communities love wrestling more then basketball and there college programs show it.
  23. List it and you will see matre Dei 9 of ten. And champions 9 straight. Put them in the lower level and they win every year way to provide just as big a gap in wrestling.
