  1. With the addition of Lake Central and Chesterton - we will change the format a bit. Because there are 4 DAC schools there (Michigan City and LaPorte) - we will not be placing teams in pools - but rather assigning 5 pre-arranged duals for the day. The pooling format would not have worked in trying to keep these conference opponents seperate. All these schools also bring their JV's for a pretty nice JV tourney as well.
  2. Congratulations to Bettendorf, Iowa for winning our innaugural duals event. Several different states represented - got to see some different people than normal - great day. It was a great day of wrestling - with a quality squad from Iowa defeating Mishawaka Maroon in the final dual. Each kid got 4-5 high quality matches. Results 1st Bettendorf Bulldogs (IA) 5-0 2nd Mishawaka Maroon (IN) 4-1 3rd Rockton Honoegah (IL) 4-1 4th New Trier (IL) 4-1 5th Munster (IN) 3-2 6th Lakeshore (MI) 2-3 7th Mishawaka White (IN) 1-4 8th Team United 0-5
  3. Alright - since we couln't find a team that is interested. I am going to ask if any individuals would be interested in making up a team. So please contact me at dagelarden@munster.k12.in.us - if you are an individual that would want to wrestle in a dual format with other interested individuals. Dan Gelarden Munster HS
  4. This weekend Munster HS (Munster, IN) is hosting a summer dual team tournament. We had one committed team that had to withdraw - so we are in need of one team. We are looking for HS team - but it can be a combined team of 2 or so schools. Just not a loaded all star team! We will wrestle 5 duals on the day - start at 9am - end by 6pm. The teams competing are very competitive from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Iowa. Please email me at dagelarden@munster.k12.in.us for details and if interested.

  7. Here is an article from the Hammond Times about the Lake County Tourney. I post this for all wrestlers who have thought about giving up. For those coaches who urge and encourage their kids to be paitent and ready to step up when it is their time, here is an article to share. For those wrestlers who sometimes can't see the purpose - here is a reason to keep on wrestling - you just never know when the time will be yours! http://nwitimes.com/sports/high-school/indiana/article_6c2303d7-867d-519b-865e-bd637cafde38.html

  10. The format of this years event doesn't have two structured pools. Because some teams had already wrestled each other - and others wanted or had to see certain teams for conference and sectional seeding purposes - There wasn't anyway to pool the teams and avoid/create this. Therefore, we decided to assign three duals - then based upon those results - see who should wrestle each other while we eat lunch. I am pretty confident we will be able to get a clear picture and find a winner.

  12. Now to put those stats in prespective - take their strength of schedule into account. Rank their strength of schedule in order from 1-8 - and see how that compares with their winning percentages.
