  1. We go right back to the original post here, those poor 40+ states that have classes will never be able to repeat the accomplishments of the schools mentioned here. And to minimalize these schools feats with the pro class ,is taking it to a level I can't be apart of.
  2. And it doesn't, unless the class pros want it to matter. Again, the rhetoric for class is all referenced to the other H.S. sports in the state. Sorry to say this is not a sound basis for the spot of wrestling. Apples to oranges. Again the coaches are the only ones here that beat the class drum. The parents, fans , and most of all kids don't.
  3. Again this argument is correct, the only thing that has come to the surface, which I see from the class side ,is the coaches want to look good for their efforts with all the other programs in the school. And that still boils down to change for change sake .
  4. Change for change sake , if the shoe fits?
  5. And the converse can also be true, Indiana will be better than Ohio because they go to Class? What? and the Railroaders will out shine Mish? because? See the ridiculous rhetoric. The best high school wrestling state in the US ! Indiana , bar none.
  6. You can't argue with success. Indiana has great turnout and participation, the we need to change for the sake of change reminds me of the guy you all voted for president this time around.
  7. Spray, back to you and your posse.
  8. Duck keep it up ,the single class drums need to keep beating on this web site until these young ins realize that the Indiana High School one class , may be the best in the United States today for the schools, students , and the state.
  9. In a state yes, School, as shown today NO.
  10. Are you going to just throw these schools under the bus? What a great accomplishment! You of all people, you fight for little schools and then on the other hand you smack the daylights out of them by diminishing what happened this year. What happened this year could happen any year! But not if we put a lid on these schools and make them wrestle in their class. As we see size is not the common denominator of success.
  11. And we all know why they are heads and shoulders ahead is because they have several thousands of students more than Indiana to participate. As does New York , As does Pennsylvania, Illinois, and the rest. Exceptions ? sure , but not the norm.
  12. Indiana had no answer for the mighty Ohio team, the seeds or rankings proved themselves. Matt Powless continued his ascend to the top of the Big Ten rankings. He will AA soon.
  13. yea the info is so overwhelming, this class wrestling topic is as always one sided that it is not good for the kids to go multi class. Just the coaches .
  14. Oh yea, I can see the team rankings being turned upside down after this one, believe me. The Irish are in for a rude awakening. I have nothing in this match, but what I have seen with Bloomington, I don't think Cathedral can hang with'em. The Gurus on this site may see it different ,but I guess a line up of both teams would help.
  15. Worked? Don't know if that completely describes what happened. That's putting it lightly if you will. Fittery will be on the podium at nationals, and he will finish better than second. Built lice CJ schlatter(sp.) Then Caughlin got pinned by a #12 rated guy. That shouldn't happen. But Nate "the skate" Everhart came thru when he had to.
  16. Starting at 10:00 am this morning the Eagles of American take on the Hoosiers, followed at 2pm Cleveland state takes on I.U. American has 4 ranked wrestlers one of which is at the 157lb class, Steve Fittery, and is a little higher ranked than Kinser. Kurt has been a little less inclined to use the head lock this season , but he can pull the trigger any time.
  17. I think your comment about the small schools having alot of their athletes involved in more than 2 sports, may also add to the equation. I can remember a wrestler from my high school Zak Dommer was involved in 4 varsity sports a year, and starting in most of them. I can only wonder what kind of success he would of had if it was confined to 1 or 2 sports. Wrestling and basketball in the same season , starting and not missing any competition?
  18. Another good example here of how Class seems not to be the direction to go in for overall sectional improvement in the state areas.
  19. Good post, "The fact that it is class does not make weak wrestling areas of the state good" now getting away from the CLASS swagger and back to topic what can be done to improve.
  20. That's where the word ANOMALY comes in, very unusual for a wrestler to dominate a state then absolutely do nothing else competition wise.
  21. I'll be there, Sitting with doc P. and Captain Paul and the rest of the team. Looks like Coughin, Kinser, and Cameron have their work cut out for them. I love wrestling!
  22. You have to admit Ruggerri was an anomaly, I don't think he pursued national exposure like Dex
  23. Sorry, I'm with duck on this one, wins and losses are not the only way to define success. But I can see that wins and losses usually come after a solid program is put together. Seems like a progressive method, get youth involved early, lots of student interest , solid program, wins. I can't see how developing a good mat room ,creating student interest is watering down success.
