basketball has slowly been dying, which is attributed to the class system. i personally don't believe that would be the case in wrestling. and I hope the powers that be would not let basketball's downfall weigh to heavily on a decision in wrestling should that come about. small schools would definitely benefit the most; and since the majority of the schools in Indiana are of the smaller variety it seems to make sense to me. ;D wrestling needs to make it's move NOW! :-\

honestly, m'ville probably isn't as high in attendance as it could be. how many people have no desire to fight that madhouse and simply don't go???? i would guess their attendance could double if they moved it to a fan-friendly arena. apparently, the who-s who's in the region hold some kind of power of the ihsaa...not to mention the fire marshalls of the state of indiana.

scardy, i believe you will get twin lakes back on track. you've got the right attitude and will have your guys hungry. on the topic of success in merrillville, i just wonder how much of an affect it has on guys down here having to stay overnight and wrestle vs region guys basically wrestling on their home turf. i'm not saying region guys aren't tough we all know it's the toughest wrestling area in the state. but i wonder if our guys would do any better if they got to sleep in their own beds and wrestle semistate matches in lafayette or logan. i can't help but think it would make a difference in a lot of the so-so guys wrestling from the region. wrestling in m'ville is a little intimidating to the kid who's hasn't seen it before. different mentallity up there.

the twin lakes semi state qualifier rundown west central 1 of 8 twin lakes 0 for 6 winamac 3 of 7 pioneer 3 of 6 logansport 5 of 8 logansport looked very good and so did pioneer. their young guns are the real deal...delphi's atwood didn't dominate and rowe gave it his all only to lose in the last 15 seconds...winamac was about the way i figured. minix was very impressive. twin lakes and west central not really a surprise either.....maybe i'm not so stupid afterall. a real jerk sure, but the proof is in the numbers. i know, i know, it's all about the draw...good luck to those who made it out.

i had no idea a forum wasn't a place to say what you feel....it's really nothing against west central. it really isn't..they won and i suppose earned their victory. but didn't they lose to delphi like 71-6 this season????how can the winamac's, logansport's, pioneer's, twin lakes, or bomber faithful not feel sour?? i just don't get it. wrestling seems to be taking a downward spin....football has taken over the state and basketball is on the backburner....this is the time for you wrestling coaches to beat the hallways and get your kids involved in wrestling. if west central can put 14 guys on the mat there is absolutely no reason why winamac or logan should be forfeiting weight classes, or the others forfeiting MULTIPLE weight classes!!! > i sincerely hope west central's success sparks the other teams to do something about it and really make this sectional something to come and see. it seems you're all looking for a hug. :'( coach nielsen, if it takes me to motivate your guys then you're in trouble tomorrow night. can my agitation really make up 65 points..............damn, i'm good ;D

just like you guys to pick on a poor throwback guy who is unable to afford a decent haircut.. .. if it was the dude who kept sticking his chest out as he walked by i did see it...classic 1989. the real question is...did anyone notice twin lakes coach?? he looked like he was only 12 years old.

i guess i have to congratulate the unthinkable champs. : probably more of an indictment on the rest of the field. you're all guilty for letting something like this happen :'( where was north white's rowe? what about the frontier kid who i heard missed the bus? what about perkins? i don't know where to start. pretty amazing a team with one champ and a bunch of 5th and 6th place finishers wins this tournament. the stars were aligned for this to happen... if the fox kid from pioneer gets the obvious pin called on the west central 171 for third place the warriors are the champs. what was the ref watching? ???of course, that no-call went right in line with the TWO PINS that were called and later changed to OOPS calls.

easy scardy, do you need a hug? sounds like you stevie need to hug and sing some kumbaya's....where in the world am i being hard on the kid????did he quit or not? it's a simple question. i fail to see how that is being hard on the kid. : from what i've been told of the kid's past he has some issues to deal with....and i hope he gets his stuff worked out and wish him the best. almostgood, is perkins wrestling or not? it makes a difference......just another question, if perkins doesn't show for sectional is that a forfeit for winamac or can they put someone else in there? heck, if i was winamac's coach and knew my chance at winning would mean perkins needs to wrestle i'd have offered him the cash a couple weeks ago :P

he was seeded at conference and quit their team the week of....kind of strange how the kid quit their team two weeks ago and gets seeded in the sectional ??? ??? what's that all about? is their coach pulling some crap ;D....what self-respecting coach would allow him to wrestle now even if he did show up............nevermind. :

I can't count the times i've seen wrestlers get beat and "rise to the occasion" by sectional time and avenge a loss or two..should be fun. i agree with piosoph145. dorris is training harder than ever and he knows what his weaknesses are and is fixing that. he will be the one to rise to the occasion this time. ethier that or a great scoring match. i just can't see dorris and that 145lber pulling another rabbit out of their hat here. dorris does too many dangerous things...trys to hit too many moves and is just to reckless to pull this out.

Easy TSpray, not meaning to offend...I love the Fox kid, lots of grit and determination. He's definitely got a shot. I just think Dix has more raw tools than anyone in the field. I just don't think he has used his abilities....probably a lack of coaching. best of luck to both guys.

slim's pickens: 103 - Rehn - (easily...love the green shoes) 112 - johnson (freshman phenom has nobody to stop him here) 119 - cataldo (why is he seeded 2nd : 125 - berkshire (interesting he bumped down to an actually tougher class than 130 where he wrestled most of year ???) 130 - holloway (see 125 where berkshire now resides) 135 - too tough to call - 140 - rowe (no challenge he abused mullett at conference and will again) 145 - mcmenamin (wont be happy with what happened last week) 152 - minix (2-time statequalifier will smash everyone and then go looking in crowd for their families for not getting mwc mvp....i was embarrassed for the rest of conference) 160 - nethercutt (looked very good last week, sound, no mistakes) 171 - rowe (bell looked very vulnerable last week stalling for the title 1-0) 189 - kaufman (shidler good and can challenge, should be good matchup) 215 - tolle (nothing to see here, others can't pay the tolle to compete, he'll take a tolle on the rest of the field) hwt - dix (if this guy figures out how good he could be and quit wrestling down to competition he could be on podium in conseco)

thanks mr. obvious....not going to argue this, but they were exposed for the fraud they are....you'll see saturday. duals are one thing, tournaments are something else.

west cental won mwc because they had 14 classes filled and received 24 points in forfeits...only one kid won a title. pioneer and winamac had 5 and 4 champs respectively. had they had full line-ups they both would have finished ahead of west central. at sectional, the deeper field will eliminate the trojans rather early. i believe it's still winamac, logan, pioneer, rens, and twin lakes fight.
