  1. Drook it was not my intention to belittle his comment, my point is that indeed there does need to be something done but simply posting something on here will not get the job done. Something or someone with more authority needs to take control of this situation, my apologies if I upset someone like I said it was not my intent.
  2. Oh man, here we go again....... every year its the same thing, seating, prices, rude people its like the saving seats conversation, POINTLESS!!!! until people get together and actually do something this will never ever change! There are plenty of viable options out there, but until we make our voices heard to the correct authority IE the IHSAA or whomever this is a mute subject. Dont get me wrong I completely agree but it is clear complaining on this forum or any other is not cutting it! So I suggest that some one writes a proper petition stating FACTS and the viable options to said location. Like maybe a rotating location, Merriville one year the next at Lafayette Jeff (where there is more than enough room), and Central the next or where ever. There just has to be a combined effort from all of us if we are going to get this changed.
  3. I am a fan of wrestling period, no real ties to any school, but I have not been to as many of DA REGION meets this year so I had to go with what I have seen. This is in no way putting down the other regional's because they are on a whole other level and I know that, but with that said there are alot of kids that dont get as much recognition as others for what ever reason so I just think that there will be some kids that sneak up there and take a few from the big boys. Besides my picks are not that crazy, and if it goes my way no one will beat me in the pickems!!!!!!! I just cant wait for the warriors to go at it, good luck to all.

  5. At 160 I think the winner of the match between Delany and Dale will be sectional champ, and if Delany pulls it off could be what Delphi needs to pull out the team championship. 171 Atwood either pins or TF to the championship!!
  6. does anyone know what teams will be attending, i believe its on the 10th
  7. I sure am glad I asked, it looks as if I was not the only one that did not know for sure. Thanks to all who took the time to look that up and explain it to all of us.
  8. I think it could be, simply because I think people will want to see if Brock can revenge his last loss. But it will probably come down to who else is on the main card with them. I know I cant wait for it, cause even though I dont like Mir he has looked really good.
  9. Are there any brackets posted for this invite?
  10. Just curious, if it has changed. People have told me several different things.
  11. i AGREE! I completely agree, and that is the exact type of incident I was speaking about when I made this post. I think we all can agree that cutting your opponent has its place in wrestling, I just do not agree with that type of blatant attempt to embarrass an inexperienced or lesser wrestler. Now if he hits on your girlfriend or calls your mom a cow, something like that than by all means destroy the kid ;D
  12. Bowles is a beast but the MULLET MAN is on another levle!
  13. That Sloan kid walked thruogh sectional his senior year but I think he got injured in practice right?
  14. Jeff Curran now wants a piece of him, IN CHI TOWN!!!
  15. Speed I completely agree if a kid is unpinnable then you do what you have to do in order to get your team the win with as many points as possible.
  16. I love it when people answer like this. First off if a school decides to run a meet THEY are the ones responsible for the smooth running of it. Second have you ever tried to help a school ,that you have no affiliations to, run their meet, I don?t think so. Besides why is it so much to ask that when you compete in or attend a meet that you expect it to be ran correctly.
  17. I was just wondering is there a point to repeatedly cutting and taking down an opponent that is obviously outmatched or inexperienced? I can understand wanting a wrestler to work on some different moves but there is sometimes where it gets to a point where it looks as if the dominant wrestler is trying to embarrass his opponent and to me this is not right. Sometimes a wrestler knows that they can not hold another to the mat so they stick with what they believe can get them the victory, this is fine to me. I just hope that coaches don't condone purposely embarrassing another fellow wrestler. When I coached my philosophy in this situation was to work a few take downs then work a pinning combination to finish the kid off.
  18. You should never let the ref determine the outcome of a match if you think you didn't win because of a refs bad call then you didn't do enough to win! [/quote You?re not understanding my point! As a wrestler you should never worry about anything but your opponent and your game plan and your teammates, nothing else. I am certainly not saying that every time a wrestler looses that they should storm off the matt blaming the official for screwing them, or anyone else for that matter. What I am saying is that an official is VERY important in a match and certainly have an ill effect on the outcome of a match, and that there needs to be some serious self evaluation and accountabillity for some not all of our officials.
  19. So matts I guess you have never had a son or brother loose a match due to the neglagance of an official! If you had you would reallize the importance of a quality official with the ability to simply, do his job to the best of his ability. There is no question that being an official at any levle is no easy task, but that person should reallize their experience levle and stay there untill they are 100% sure they can handle the many situations that can come about in a hard fought Varsity wrestling match. There are many great officials out there but there are also incometent smug officials that need to have much more practice and even more so they need to have accountabillity for thier actions. So matts I hope you can take your own advice and go take your "ref test" so you can be a part of the solution aswell.
