  2. It is almost as if the IHSAA is being ran by a bunch of Flunkies from the Nixson administration. To have what happened on the two ends of the state yesterday gets me literally feeling sick to my stomach!! Shame on Coach Ferguson for even attempting to appeal the weight issue. You have put a major black eye on Pather wrestling and yourself. And to Cox, you have the power to make the incident at Jay County right, so DO IT!!!

  4. Yes- Weinzapfel did win the match with Renaldo Weekly last night. Don't remember the score, but Weinzapfel pretty much dominated the match and the result was never in doubt.
  5. #7125d- refer to page 1. Remember, I started this thread.
  6. That could possibly be the smartest thing I have read on this board!!!!!!! :)
  7. Wrestlingdad, I think your alliance with the Southridge sectional kids is swaying your common sense a little bit. No way does Miller from Jeff not win at 119, or Weekly at 135 from Jeff, along with a few other weight classes that will come from the Jeffersonville sectional. That being said, I sure hope Cody can capture the 112 title this year. Tough order though, Smith has three regional titles to his credit. Best of luck to Cody come Saturday.
  8. Let's get the party started. Predictions? 103- Shepherd(Jeff) Lahue (Corydon) 112- Smith(Jeff) Kendle (Pike Central) 119- Miller(Jeff) Meemach (New Washington) 125- Springer(Corydon) Marler(New Albany) 130- Witt(Floyd) Simpson(Jeff) 135- Weekly(Jeff) Denny(Floyd) 140- Rickman(New Albany) Newcomb(Charlestown) 145- Sampson(New Washington) Moberly(Floyd) 152- Golembeski(Providence) Daugherty(Charlestown) 160- Songer(S) Jones(Jasper) 171- Browner(Jeff) Kreilein(Jasper) 189- Voges(Forest Park) Tucker(Jasper) 215- Pratt(Jeff) Manning(Pike Central) 285- Jenkins(Jasper) Hoke(New Albany) Overall, I think that the Jeff sectional qualifiers will DOMINATE most of the Southridge sectional qualifiers!

  10. Huge upset in my mind. Jasper's wrestlers performed well above their seeds in most cases and in the end the points accumalated in the consolation rounds ended up being the difference. This is not to say that Mt. Vernon and Princeton wrestled poorly, Jasper just wrestled a little better. The meet could have went either way.
  11. The interpretation by the IHSAA Wrestling Commissioner is that it does go from week to week. Violation of the rule results in the coach's suspension. This has been the case in the past as well as I think Mishawaka's Coach Snyder was also penalized as well sometime in the past. I think that in legal terms, case precedent has been set.

  13. Apparently Commissioner Cox opinion(THE ONE THAT MATTERS) is that the weight loss plan goes from week to week. Mt. Vernon's coach had to sit out Big 8 today because of the rule not being followed.
  14. theckman, which "crap" are you referring to? The fact that the weight loss rule is clear as mud or the fact that some coaches might find loop holes in the rules to allow their wrestler to drop that much weight even though we can all agree it is not healthy for the wrestler? The powers that be should clarify the rule so that it is crystal clear and not allow wrestlers to participate if the rule is not heeded to the letter!
  15. Ok, so a wrestler weighs in at 147 even for conference, and he has already made scratch weight at 140 and has at least 6 qualifying weights. Can that same wrestler go down to 142(140lb. weight class) for sectional. The real question is, can he lose more than 1.5% of his body weight in that one week to wrestle the 140lb weight class in sectional?
  16. Mount Vernon was not the only team that had wrestler(s) drop weight class, BUT they were the only team to have wrestlers drop THREE weight classes!
  17. Jasper 49 Southridge 12 103 - Shepherd(J) wins by FF 112 - Eckert(J) wins 11-3 over Underwood 119 - Meyerholtz(S) wins 6-4 over Chevez 125 - Linne(J) wins by fall over Ramirez 130 - Chambers(J) wins by fall over Dischinger 135 - Jones(S) wins by fall over Varner 140 - Harder(J) wins 3-1 over Mundy 145 - Schwenk(J) wins 6-4 over Ingram 152 - Ackerman(J) wins 21-8 over Stetter 160 - Songfer(S) wins 7-2 over Jones 171 - Kreilein(J) wins by fall over Nordhoff 189 - Tucker(J) wins 11-0 over Schwinghammer 215 - Jenkiins(J) wins by fall over Hall 285 - Jenkins(J) wins 9-0 over Veatch

  19. Changed my mind at 152. I understand Steckler might not be wrestling. I will go with Ackerman of Jasper at 152. Any other thoughts out there?
  20. 103 - Concannon(M) 112 - Kendall(PC) 119 - ??? 125 - Chambers(J) 130 - Byer(NK) 135 - Hughes(PC) 140 - Harder(J) 145 - Schwenk(J) 152 - Steckler(S) 160 - Jones(J) 171 - Songer(S) 189 - Tucker(J) 215 - Manning(PC) HWT - Jenkins(J) Jasper edges Southridge
  21. I read in the Newspaper where Charlestown had two undefeated wrestlers in the MSC duals and Stotridge was not one of them. Is this true and if so, who beat him?
  22. Anyone have any results from this tournament?
  23. Didn't these two schools wrestle the other night? Anyone know the outcome and match scores?
  24. I am quite sure these are not the caliber of teams Floyd wrestles all the time. What was FC's line-up during the HHC duals?
  25. Lighten up Coach Harmon. If you wasn't so busy holding your breath, kicking and screaming on the floor trying to get your way, you might realize that this year is a unique situation. With the supposed drop out of Forest Park and the addition of Greencastle, then FP staying in the tournament, that puts someone not getting to wrestle someone.Remember a team can only wrestle 5 times in one day. You have different teams wanting to wrestle each other and other teams not wanting to wrestle certain teams. Not everyone is going to be pleased with the scheduling, I get that. But I am sure the Jasper coach and AD are doing the best with the request they had. So, bottom line is, your not going to get your way ALL the time. Just most of it!!
