  1. :-X :-X :-X :-X follow my lead Reitz fans - it's not worth it.
  2. To get things started - I will take a stab at the top 4 seeds. As most of you know, the difference between SIAC and the Evansville Sectional is - Castle drops out and we add Mt. Vernon and North Posey. Teams: Mater Dei, Reitz, Central, Harrison, North, Bosse, Memorial, North Posey, and Mt. Vernon. 103: RE, HA, MD, CE 112: RE, MD, CE, MV 119: RE, MD, ME, NP 125: RE, MD, MV, NO 130: NP, MV, CE, RE 135: NO, MD, ME, MV - assumes Hufford wrestes for North 140: MD, MV, NO, RE 145: MD, MV, RE, ME 152: RE, MD, CE, NO 160: MD, ME, NP, CE 171: ME, MV, MD, RE 189: NO, NP, RE, ME - assumes Carlisle wrestles for North 215: MV, MD, RE, ME - assumes Ruggeri wrestles for Mt. Vernon 285: MV, ME, MD, CE

    Big 8

Congrats to Mt. Vernon for winning the Big 8 title! I noticed Rugerri was not in the line-up. Is he still hurt? Will he be in the line-up for the sectional?
  4. Mater Dei kept their SIAC streak alive by winning in the consolation round. Castle had 9 in the finals winning 6 championships with MD having 8 and coming away with 2 champions. Reitz had 6 going for the title - with 4 winners. Summary: MD (217.5) 2 (1st) 6 (2nd) 5 (3rd) 1 (4th) Castle (211) 6 (1st) 3 (2nd) 1 (3rd) 3 (4th) Reitz (187) 4 (1st) 2 (2nd) 2 (3rd) 4 (4th) Memorial (132) 2 (1st) 1 (2nd) 3 (3rd) 2 (4th) Central 1 (2nd) 1 (3rd) 4 (4th) Harrison 1 (2nd) North 2 (3rd) Bosse
  5. It appears the C&P did not accept my challenge. The day before the tournament and still nothing! They did have the pairings in the scoreboard section - errors throughout. Oh well, maybe next week for Sectional ???
  6. The 140 match in December at Castle was very close as I remember. A last second escape or reversal for the MD win. Simms seems to be wrestling better of late. He struggled and seemed frustrated in the match with Luke Ervin at the MD classic.
  7. Would'nt be that much of an upset in my book - Dehaven is legit. 125, 130, & 135 are wide open with only some slight favorites.
  8. Bluebolt, Nice post / open comment to ALL wreslters of the SIAC A little note from last year about being keyed up or nervous going into the tournament. My son which most people would agree was a pretty good wrestler - had to PAY to get in the conference tournament : I dropped him off at the door as was our routine - he walks in - I do my drive around Newburgh, Boonville, and back to Castle when I get a call - "I forgot my participant pass"! Of course, he had no money, and even though he was there an hour ahead of time with all his wrestling stuff - the lady at the door would not let him in (I don't blame her at all - this is not part of the story). He waited for someone to come by to pay his way in - the most humiliating part was 8) MD showed up during this and walked by him while he was waiting for someone to pony up $5!!! Wrestlers are a breed of their own!! I love them all!!!
  9. Ok my top 3 - Of course I will be rooting hard for all Reitz kids but since I don't have a dog in this fight - it's much more fun and less stressful 103: RE-HA-MD 112: MD-RE-CA 119: RE-MD-CA 125: MD-RE-NO 130: CA-CE-RE 135: CA-ME-MD 140: CA-MD-RE 145: MD-CA-RE 152: RE-CA-CE 160: MD-CA-RE 171: ME-CA-RE 189: CA-RE-NO 215: CA-ME-RE 285: ME-MD-CA 140 & 145 will be crazy battles between MD & Castle in the finals! This should also be the championship matches at Regionals.
  10. Congrats Hunter on the big win!
  11. I'm back coaching elementary after a 10 year absence. What is the rule of thumb for enforcing locked hands at the beginner level? I had our (high school) refs just continually warn the kids tonight and if they didn't let go after a while - call it. This seemed to work for a early season dual and nobody seemed to mind. Most of my kids walk off the mat not knowing who won anyway.
  12. Great job Tony!!! My wife and daughter said "awwwwwwwwww"!
  13. Mvwrs, I think you posted on the wrong topic?
  14. Come on......toss me a bone! Someone post the top 4. I would ask the coaches but this is much more fun I could probably get close on the maj0rity of the brackets - but 112, 125, 130, 152 and 189 hurt my head.
  15. Check out the "Wall of Fame" on www.jordantrained.com, many familiar names from Indiana and around the country. I would post it but I'm not sure about the copyright laws and it's a fairly large list. Note the first 2 Indiana names you come to are Blake Maurer and Alex Tsirtsis!
  16. 285 I will have to go with MV but I was very impressed with MC (Crum) at the MD Holiday classic. Very active and athletic, he was just a little undersized for Borkowski and lost in OT. I heard Crum is a prize recruit for Football - is he a Soph or Junior?
  17. The confusion came at the Lexington 5-way tournament. Ruggeri injury defaulted and finished 4th - Wimpleberg finished 3rd. I think the results showed up as 4-3.
  18. If Konrath was hurt I don't have a problem with it. I just think everyone got excited when we saw him walking to the mat with his head gear on. Not sure what changed at the last minute?
  19. I have no idea what I'm doing here!
  20. Obviously, I love posting results and commenting on certain wrestlers or teams. I never could understand why certain teams won't post their results. They may be worried about other teams or individuals knowing what weight their wrestlers are going? This is easy enough to find out with a little leg work or scouting. However, nobody really knows until the sectionals.
