  1. Maybe, "with no problem" was a bad choice of words in that I do believe they are the better TEAM. With thier line up full and mat experience of returning wrestlers should win all thier matches.
  2. Here are a few thoughts about the HHC. Every year we hear how young the teams are in it. When do these teams start to mature? Jennings County and Jeff seem to have that problem solved with numbers. J.C.- is the team to beat, solid line up and good kids. If they wrestle well they should beat Jeff and Columbus East with no problem. C.E.- is probably the next best team here, but they have a way of folding to the pressure. Jeff could beat them for 2nd. Jeff- Over ranked as a team, but will improve as the season progresses. The most solid studs on a team. Look for teams to challenge them this year from the area. Should win thier 3rd sectional! Next group coould go in any order. Floyd- use to have numbers, but now they can't keep thier kids on the team. Good young team with a good staff. look for them to improve and make a run for the sectional if they have all thier classes filled New Albany- just seems to have young kids year after year, which is due to older kids not wrestling. They do have a good core of young fresh. and soph. on thier team. They are scrappy and wrestle hard. Seymore- They are on the rise and will be a good team with the young crew they have and the coaching staff is a good group as well. BNL- The Stars are a team that seeems to never really get over the edge and make a run at these other teams. They do have the few kids that are good but lack the stud factor. Madison- One stud, with two other good kids and the rest are young like this conference. Will round out the rest of the pack of the other young groups.
  3. Throw45, Just to let you know there was a scale in the back bathroom that was put in there to check your weight on. It was not talked about cause there were people that didn't want the ISWA to find out, when I know for a fact that they knew and were allowing it.
  4. I don't think you are looking at the big picture here. I agree with you in the fact that wrestling is a sport of watching your weight, but there is a fine line there in my opinion. I was there this past weekend I saw all kinds of stuff going on that really made me alittle worried and in another way happy. I saw a Bantam 40 lbs. that was 3 tenths over and they were making him run to make weight and talking about cutting his hair to get him down there and making him spit into a trash can to get down his weight. Is this exsessive? Then the kid that cut four pounds in the last 8-10 hours and his dad is walking around talking about how he put him in a steam room for three hours and didn't let him eat for a day then made him run out side in the cold so his body would fight to get warm and he would loose more weight. Is this excessive! Now for the happy part and some of you might not agree with this, but none of those kids won thier weight classes or were really even close. I would also be willing to bet the house that most of these kids will not be wrestling when they get older.
  5. If you build it they will come! I really don't believe that traveling practices is the answser, sorry coach Trapp! By the way I was really empressed with your club coaches and the club kids this weekend. You have a good system in place there. Back to this school, I really do believe that Southern Indiana could support a club it will depend on a few things that have to be in place before you start it.
  6. WOW! Those are some great seeds for some of those Coryden boys they must wrestle a hard schedule to get them!. Jeff looks like a land slide with 7 one seeds! Would liked to have watch that Sampson kid wrestle this year, hope he don't blow it this year and get head locked again. Wasn't that a Floyd kid that did that? Well here are my prodictions, if they really matter! 103- Shep over Happel (YES, Happel might beat little chubby buddy) 112- Smith over Thomas 119- Miller over Meenach ( look for a surprise for 3rd and 4th!) 125- Stotridge over Marler in semi (Springer should prob been the three seed) 130- The match here will be Witt vs Martin ( Fowler got beat by Witt last year so either one will beat him this year!) 135- Weekley over Denny 140- Newcomb over Rickman ( should be a great match with Denny in semi's) 145- Moberly over Sampson (Sorry Sam but your schedule sucks) good luck though! 152- Golembeski over Tatgenhorst ( Providence kid that cut some weight to 152 from 190 during football! look out) 3rd will be a surprise! 160- Too close to call top four in any order, ( I know who I wouldn't want to wrestle this time of the year!) 171- Browner over the rest at once! Bowen 2nd, 3rd ? don't know the kids. 189- Bowen over( Libretto maybe 50.5 % sure of this ) 215- Pratt over Dewitt ( going with the Jeff wave on this one) 285- Hoke over (Slaten or Curtley who falls on top match!) Top three teams Jeff N.A. Floyd There it is! TOP THAT!!!! Good Luck Teams!!!
  7. Hitchings wouldn't even place in Indiana!!!!!!!!!! cause he wrestles in Kentucky!!!
  8. This thread is way to early! We don't have any sleepers due to the fact we haven't even started the state tournament. Some of these kids may not even see the inside of the weigh-in room at state.
  9. I give up!!!1 > I'll just go and buy a program to get this top secreat information! You would think I was trying to get the drawl for the State Finals.
  10. So I ask again, Do we have the brakets to be posted on here?
  11. Are the seeds done for this? If so what are they?
  12. Thatt has been a problem with this tournament in the past. Teams all wrestle each other through out the season and then they come to this. But it has improved alot as to what it was in the past years. A good tournamnet is based off the teams that attend and it takes awhile to build one. Plus some teams just are not very consistant from year to year as to how strong they are.
  13. Because of thier history is the only reason for now. If they come out and prove them selves to everyone, then it will change our opinion! Just remember," Actions speak louder than WORDS!"
  14. Hay we are going to find out tonight! Head on up or over to Floyd Central tonight and watch the show! Will Jeff and F.C. be the first or second match?
  15. If this is true about team Jeff, then I will change my pick to Jennings County. They are always solid for the most part, They should be pretty good. I also have faith Coach Struck in that a could feel those slots with a body!
