  1. Thank you all! It was an honor and a pleasure to do the rankings this season.
  2. and the music for the introductions in the finals is the instrumental title piece from chariots of fire
  3. the olympic spirit by john williams
  4. As we enter this weekend, 143 wrestlers out of the 224 competing this weekend ended the regular season ranked in the top 16 in their respective weight classes, and several more had been ranked at some point in the season. This means that, on average, there are over 10 kids at each weight who finished the regular season ranked in the top 16. Y2 will be posting my preview of the first round, highlighting all of the Friday night matches between 2 ranked wrestlers, which there are 39 of, and that preview will also include bout numbers and mat numbers for the fan's convenience. I would also like to note that there are only 9 matches in the entire first round that do not contain at least 1 ranked wrestler.
  5. they hand them out as soon as the last match is wrestled at the regional. y2 will start on the semi state brackets as soon as he gets the formula and gets home from his regional. knowing him, they'll be up as soon as humanly possible.
  6. These will undoubtedly set up some interesting ticket round matches at semi-state. Some scary possibilities... Almaraz vs. Daniel Young Eppert vs. Justin Kieffer Bennett vs. Jacob Tasseff Hall vs. Alex Surma Stevens vs. Cameron Halsted
  7. Good matches from around the state today... Keon Jones Merrillville maj dec. Chris Almaraz Highland 12-4 Brandon Wright Cathedral dec. Camden Eppert Anderson Highland 11-7 Gavin McGinley Cathedral dec. Sammy Bennett Anderson Highland Steven Sandefer Mishawaka dec. Trace Hall SB Riley 6-2 Kyle Ayersman Lake Central dec. Zac Stevens Merrillville 2-1
  8. Estrada major decision's West Side's Hill 13-3
  9. Jones adds 3 more in the 3rd and puts it on Almaraz by major decision 12-4. Nice win for Merrillville's Jones. Sets up a possible Almaraz/Daniel Young ticket round match!
  10. Keon Jones from Merrillville leads Chris Almaraz from Highland 9-4 going into the 3rd period!
  11. What do you mean bring him back? Kevin Whitehead has announced every single state finals since 1982, and I don't expect this year to be any different.
  12. its actually 14x4=56 more wrestlers + fans + coaches. should be interesting to say the least.
  13. i will be updating this bracket live on wednesday nite. if anyone wants to volunteer to send me text updates of final scores from any of the sites, please PM me
  14. check it out on the main page. the link is right above the regional brackets
  15. No, there is no more team semi-state. The first round is the regional semi-finals, and the winner at each site is the regional champ
  16. 2 more to go. Let's get these 2 in so I can get the bracket posted.
  17. Northview and Shenandoah -when i get all of these I will be posting the full team state brackets..
