  1. Our demo units go for 25% off. Let me know if you want to get one next year after state finals! Dave
  2. aoberlin: I am the Sterilaser rep for Indiana. We use ours every day in our room. You are correct, we use a static dust mop every day to pick up hair before we run the Sterilaser over the mat. We wet mop once a week and any time we bring the mats back into the room after a meet. Sterilasers are now in use at Frankton, NorthWood, Peru, Rochester and Wawasee besides Pendleton Heights. Greenfield and LaPorte just purchased units this past week. You can get a unit for 10% off until March 11. You can call me at 765-610-8150 if you have any other questions. Our website is www.sterilaser.net. Let me know if we can help. Would love to get Sterilaser into Homestead and the Fort! Dave Cloud-Head Coach Pendleton Heights Indiana Sterilaser Rep
  3. Coaches: If you haven't yet responded to the NFHS survey you received in your email recently, please do so right away. The survey closes on February 28. This is your opportunity to give your opinion on the effectiveness of previous rule changes, concerns you believe need to be addressed in wrestling and share your thoughts on rule changes (4 point near fall, eliminating center circle, etc...). 4. The problem with mopping is that many of the solutions require the surface to remain wet for 10 minutes to be effective. Especially in the winter with the air so dry, that can be a challenge. Also, if any spots are missed they are not sanitized. Trinedad: Because the light source is so close to the surface the required time is 4/10 of a second. Oakland University in Michigan did a study on the effectiveness of the UV-C light. I believe it is on our website. Our stand up room units do take considerably longer because of the distance. I appreciate the input from you guys. I looked into the product and UV-C light use before agreeing to rep the company. The NCAA had their medical panel look at the product as well.
  5. rdrodd1: This was our first time with Sterilaser at the state finals. So it was more a proof of concept. Even though we were walking after the units, the viral/bacterial load on the mats was reduced dramatically considering how many people had been on the mat. You are correct, it is best to sanitize your shoes before gong on the mat. This is what we do in our wrestling room. Next year we will have the boots to wear . MattM, I agree, it would be best if we could find a way for wrestlers shoes to be cleaned before stepping on the mat. And Matt Time, Sterilaser scored a ton of team points!
  6. Click the link below for all of our Sterilaser products that are 10% off until March 11. State Final Special.pdf
  7. Sterilaser will be sanitizing mats at the speed of light at this year's IHSAA Wrestling Championships. Our products use UV-C light to deactivate mold, fungus, germs, bacteria (including MRSA), viruses (including Covid-19) and many more. Sterilaser can sanitize wrestling mats, cheer mats or any hard surface. To celebrate our first year in Indiana Sterilaser products will be 10% off until March 11. 8. Coaches: The NWCA will return to an in person convention at the renowned Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort and Spa. Attending an NWCA convention is a fantastic experience. You will see a wide variety of vendors, rub elbows with college coaches and learn a great deal about how to make your program better. NWCA Convention Link Dave Cloud Indiana NWCA Rep
  9. Coaches: If you are an NWCA member and have Junior or Senior letter winners (requirement) on your team who display outstanding leadership and character, please nominate them for the USMC/NWCA Character and Leadership All-American Award. You can find the form on the NWCAonline.com site in the members portal. It is the first item after Home on the left menu. Please get these done ASAP. There is not a hard deadline but it would be best if you could have it done before state finals weekend. The USMC/NWCA Academic All-American Award program will be coming this Spring. I will post information on that when it opens. Dave Cloud NWCA State Rep
  10. Congratulations to the 32 IHSAA Sectional Team Champions! Head Coaches: Don't forget to send in your IHSWCA Academic Challenge forms by the deadline of February 8. You should have received the information from Danny Struck. If not, I have attached a copy of the entry package. IMPORTANT REMINDERS: ONLY TEAM CHAMPION FROM EACH SECTIONAL IS ELIGIBLE AND HEAD COACH OF TEAM MUST BE A CURRENT MEMBER OF IHSWCA. Please follow directions carefully to avoid having to resend information! 2022 IHSWCA Academic Challenge.docx
  11. Thanks Trinedad! Let me know if you have any ideas to add to the ones I posted.
  12. Every time Jimmy Buffett performs at Ruoff, Klipsch, Verizon he says "Welcome to Deer Creek" I say we just keep calling it Conseco.
  13. Coaches--I am doing a research project and could use your input. I am looking for commonalities among healthy high school wrestling programs. The concept is to have a set of metrics that a coach could use to compare his/her program against to look for ways to improve. I have listed some items below but would like to hear some of your ideas of things commonly found in strong programs. Thanks for your help! 1) Retention rate for freshmen who complete their first season 2) Number of home dual meets 3) Average roster size over the last five years 4) Middle school roster size last five years 5) Themed nights for home meets (youth nights, alumni nights, first responders, most influential teacher) 6) Music used at home meets 7) Regular schedule for uniform/warm up purchases Dedicated booster club for your team (separate from all sport booster club) 9) Administrators (not just AD) attending home meets 10) Use of team building activities

  15. Some very funny scenes in that film. Too bad the language makes it inappropriate for sharing with a team.
  16. Congratulations to our friends in the Buckeye State! The OHSAA has voted to sanction boys volleyball and women's wrestling. The sports will be considered as "emerging" sports which carries additional requirements to meet. A big move for Ohio and for women's wrestling in the U.S. I believe Ohio is the 33rd state to sanction.
  17. Like the idea for college and I think it will happen. Not crazy about it for high school. I don't think ADs want to have to be here in the summer for baseball and track. Many only have 9 or 10 month contracts. Schools likely wouldn't want to pay the extra costs. A lot easier to convince kids to be in the wrestling room when it is snowing and cold outside. Not sure how that would go when it is sunny and warm.
  18. Got someone to take them. Thanks!
  19. Cleaning out a wrestling closet and have four pairs of shoes (two in really good shape and two that are more worn but still very functional). All around size 9/10. Would prefer they to go a coach with some kids in his/her program that can't afford shoes. Send me a message if you have some kids in need. Dave
  20. Dec 2 Update: Colin passed his swallow test today and was able to eat a cheeseburger and fries. The plan was to have at Riley by the end of the day (where his sister, Ashlyn, is recovering). Both Colin and Ashlyn continue on the path to recovery. They continue to need your prayers. Thank you to everyone, especially the members of the Wrestling Family, who have helped exceed the GoFundMe fundraiser (search Gillespie family) goal. It is still open if you wish to donate. Your emotional and financial support has been truly heartwarming. Proud and humbled to be a part of this community.
  21. Colin is out of ICU tonight! I want to thank everyone for the prayers, expressions of sympathy and offers of assistance. It is an honor to be part of the Indiana Wrestling Family. You are the best. Dave
  22. Arabian Wrestler Colin Gillespie and his younger sister Ashlyn were in a very bad car crash Monday morning on the way to school. Both were taken by LIfeLine to Indy area hospitals. They have been in ICU since the crash. They are sedated and in stable condition and fortunately they are showing signs of improvement. Colin and Ashlyn face a lengthy recovery. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated for the entire Gillespie family. A GoFundMe page has been established. If you wish to contribute you can go to the link below. Thanks to all the amazing people in the Indiana Wrestling Family who have already reached out to the Gillespie family and our wrestling program to offer support. We will all get through. I thank all of you for thoughts, prayers and compassion. No family like the wrestling family! Support for Gillespie Family
