If anyone with a strong MS girls program wants to do a good deed, it would be very beneficial to have a scramble-type meet for MS girls. That way teams with just a handful or fewer girls could still get them an official girls meet. This would be a big help in growing upstart programs.
PS, Culver fits into the upstart category, not the strong category.
I like it. I was thinking almost like about invite middle school tournament just so we get girls mat time. Do grouped weights, round Robin brackets ect.

Hey all with all the great updates in girls wrestling status are any of you looking at middle school teams? If so is anyone looking to do any girls middle school meets or invites during middle school season. Doing a lot of recruiting and want options for my girls. Would be willing to host one at Stonybrook if we got the interest.

Franklin has a lot of seating for the 1A state tournament in the field house. No worries about getting a great setting for duals and finals seating. Did a great job for the school boys duals finals two years ago too.

Sucks a lot of Indiana teams in the same pools. How are Penn and Franklin Community 2?
Franklin qualifies for Community 2 less than 1400 students, Now Penn is a good question with almost 4000 in enrollment

I’ll say it again MS Wrestling is the Wild West of sports. The rules and procedures will constantly evolve from region to region and even from school to school.
Facts the true wild west. I have 7 kids wrestling this weekend that have wrestled twice this past week. In middle school it's all about mat time

Guys I agree that their are good and bad things with this option. For me, I agree that this is hard process to do and it adds and extra weekend of work and effort from our athletes but also tons of time for our high school coaches working through the tournament. Anyone of us that do it know we spend just as much time Coaching on the mat as planning, scouting, and watching film for our guys the following week. I have pushed for my middle school kids to wrestle in this event every year and will continue to make sure my athletes are represented but this extra weekend may not be the answer for everyone.
I don't like the argument of the best guys not wanting to do it for two weeks and take away from the national picture. That is a fundamental issue. Is it more about you or your state? Make the call, if we need to make it about the state lets teach and preach that for clubs and academies to get the message out. I know not everyone will be on that page, but if as a state we want to be like some of the real heavy hitters we need to be state goal motivated instead of individually motivated.

Its crazy to think but going though it, there is a possibility to see Brownsburg and/or Crown Point in the finals at every weight class.
