Who cares how many were held back?The real question is...How many state champs were over 18?

Yes Some kids are young for their grade. They are still 18 at State Finals with a hold back. I think you did the right thing.

Word to the wise. You can move for athletic reasons any time you feel like... all the way up to and including 8th grade. Do not take a chance to let the transfer referees to make a call against your kid.

If you did redshirt him, how old would he be at state finals his senior year? 18 or 19?

I think it should be illegal for any kid that is not 18 years old or younger (on the day of) to wrestle in the Indiana State Finals. Red shirt, grey shirt or no shirt. Problem solved.
