it is to my belief that switching to class wrestling would be taking away the great achievement of being an Indiana state champ. It's diminishing to think that there are 1 or 2 other champs at your weight class.
Doyle Trout was originally scheduled to wrestle Saturday night at the Dream Team Classic in Independence.
But the four-time Nebraska state high school champion is facing a bigger battle now.
Trout suffered serious injuries Sunday night in a one-car wreck near Waco, Neb. Doctors amputated Trout’s left leg above the knee, according to his high school wrestling team’s Facebook page and a GoFundMe account http://www.gofundme.com/r5ehmsset up to help Trout’s family with medical expenses.
York County Sherriff Dale Radcliff told the Grand Island Independent that initial reports showed Trout bent down to get something in his vehicle when he lost control, swerved into a ditch and hit a power pole.
Please everyone keep Doyle and his family in your prayers.
