Best high school wrestler without a state championship?

From Connersville so I got to see Mac wrestle several times. He was extremely tough! -
Gotta be Crume. Win semistate and be rewarded with a two time state champ! Also has Lecount in his half. Not saying he can't win both those, just that I feel it's the toughest draw.

I've never put the same value on coaching at a private school where you have the ability to virtually recruit as if it's a college program. That being said... I don't think anyone can deny Goebel his place on the list, but if I could choose one guy to make my son a champion it would have to be Jim Tonte. I feel he's the best right now and will soon be in the "best ever" conversation.

Tons of valid posts. This has to be the most talked about Friday night matchup that I can remember. My favorite part of the entire weekend is the intros of the finalists. I always get goosebumps when they start rattling off the accomplishments of these kids. For that reason I'll be there rooting for a Phillips vs. Ayersman showdown. It's not every year that we get to see two two- timers square off under the lights.

Geez count the lights. It's one thing to get on here and voice your opinion, but you have done nothing but slam the Phillips kid. You've written several posts all saying essentially the same thing... You really like Ayersman, and would rather he wrestle Crume than Phillips! Gee wonder why?

Must say I'm a little shocked at how many people are counting Phillips out. I don't agree with the way he acted Saturday, but this kid has won two state championships. To say he is done before the tournament even starts is crazy. I've seen Ayersman, Crume, and Phillips all wrestle several times over the past few years and in my opinion if they're all at their best he has just as good a shot as anyone. Thank God they're gonna decide this thing on the mat this weekend. No matter what anyone writes!
