  1. AJ, you are clearly trying to stir the pot right now.. and clearly dont want team state for what ever reason. In football state does 1A fans stay and watch 2A?? No when your team is done your done, and for the casual fan.. yes i drove about 2 hours in the morning and then left at night 2 hours back...Here is a little info, Indian Creak took second for coaches trophy (or state runner up) in the old way, and they wern't even close to winning there sectional.... no disrespect to indian creak!!!! (Great job by the way).. ... but for real getting on and saying stuff of thsat nature is uncalled for. I also feel classed team state may put a little drive in some of the coaches out there just collecting a pay cheack to make forth some effort to get a team title... but it cant be classed if we dont have it...
  2. Y2, armyofone is correct, your coaching abbilities and schools demeanour is ruined and diminished by your strange odd urge to feel comfortable by wearing jeans at a wrestling tournament, armyofone, out of my own curiostity, would you make a scene if someone was wearing Je'orts at a wrestling tournament? (je'orts are jean shorts)..... i think that if you wear jeans to a tournament it should be mandatory for the jeans to either be buckle jeans ( expensive and shows you want to look nice) or have a chain attached to your wallet, this is sophisticated.
  3. Maybe they had to wear jeans because there heavyweight ate there slacks.... also maybe we should focus on wrestling and not what other coaches/men are wearing.... which brings me to my next point... i saw several coaches with un-combed hair
  4. Team state needs to be classed, but first we got to keep it.... pack the stands ladies and gents, im pretty sure mishawaka won the "coaches trophy" like 5 years in a row.. only two team titles out of that 5 so i am pretty sure teams like crown point and york town are liking the team state... it gives a reason for coaches to promote wrestling and make the semi kids important because they are just as important as the stud on there team... it is stupid to work with your 3 best kids and say screw the rest because they dont have a chance to win, and then win a title that way... think about being that average kid in the stands at individual state in your street clothes it is just announced "your school won" how important do you feel? other then being a dummy how important are they to the winning of a title in that fassion... I think getting rid of it will hurt our sport, how would it help promote wrestling and make it grow if your an average wrestler and your only use is to get beat up by joe smith everyday trying to make hium better???? It will cut the numbers.. and the "little schools" will have even "smaller numbers".. if it was classed every team would feel they have a chance and would be super exciting.. imagine how much money the state would get also haveing 24 teams (just an idea) competing all day 3 classes... i have seen a state north of us have state and it was FRICKEN EXCITING... it is awesome and should not be dismissed
  5. Guy's... do we not all agree that wrestler's in general take pride in knowing work ethic, responsibilities, amd a true knack for knowing what it takes to be a champion??? I say we do, school size doesnt matter, for an individual trying to be a state champ it takes a massive work ethic and ect. so someone saying it isn't possible to have success because the size of there school is poop. You dont just get a state championship for showing up and trying your best.... i guess what im trying to say is it is up to the individual on how hard he is willing to work, going to weekend tournaments, working in the off season and putting in the extra work it takes.. there are to many variables to name that take affect in a athletses success to just say "hey the school is small" there should be NO classed individual, team is another story.. team state should be classed and would make the team state championship very exciting, will also promote more kids in you "small school" argument to come out, and make wrestling a better sport in the state of indiana.
  6. Pin2win Your right when saying that the rivalry will always be there, but what i was implying was that those type of kids (upper weights) if injured and what not, may not even stay out for wrestling if injured, whos to say that they stick around with a serious injury if not sacrificing in the long run for team state... my point is they stick around for the team, not just a specific dual...... and to an earlier post i read something talking about how horrible the mish jv was.. well they will all be back next year i suppose due to mish loosing only 2-3 seniors and getting a freshmen who is okay, i think his name is tommy forte... he is "decent" haha.. and penn is on the rise as well, bright future for the rivaly
  7. Zen- I guess it is something you won't understand, and not knocking on ya but i think snyders point is those kids were injured pretty bad, and due to the belief in the team and there overall goal of winning a team state title (in the long run) they sacrificed the thought of further injury by wrestling for the team.... that being said. Snyder was saying if team state is lost what is to keep those kids wrestling (sacrifice) if not just wrestling for the team? They didnt wrestle just for them selves that night.... I know snyder and the way his program is ran and built, and it all revolves around team state. Say what you want about him and your belief on team state but he runs a pretty good program, last 5 years.. most state placers, most guys to state, 4 coaches trophies and 2 state titles... dont think its a coincidence... great job coach's and great meet. Also the 130 pounder is from jimtown, but how about we talk about someone else "recruiting" for a second. There is one kid moved in on the team... big deal guys, dont mean to sound mean or talking bad about anyone, i just speak my mind
