  1. Heres the brutal truth big guy, Build your program and get better and quit waiting for the rules to do it for you..... Many other small programs have done it!
  2. Y2, Are you willing to compromise at all? Everyone plain and simple will not agree with everything you propose (hence the last 14 pages), so look for a compromise you can get most to support! I do not think classing team state is best but if it will get us 90% support of the wrestling community behind it to make a strong represented proposal to IHSAA then I would agree to it, but you really remind me of the child that takes his ball and leaves because he doesn't get his way! I think it is very important to keep team state in some form.
  3. Cathedral only has 6 ranked wrestlers and at 152lbs Niebarger transfered and there were only 6 others ranked.
  4. Hey whats up, I lost my cool points for my opinion on this subject huh,lol
  5. New Castle is obviously going to be pretty good but beating Perry Meridian is what you would have to do to get there so good luck with that.(at least you'd have them in your gym)lol ;D
  6. The size of the school in a man on man match gives no advantage to anyone, but the physical size(weight) of one wrestler verses another certainly does, now quit your making a mockery of yourself and this arguement! ;D
  7. I'm done fellas I think I've made my point your fight now is with IHSAA,lol
  8. The above thought is a ignorant one in which your arguing for the sake of arguing and, I would say your case has been the one debunked because the system being used currently is the one I favor, and your the ones fighting for a change! ;D I also would like to see team state continued for sure and seeded if possible!
  9. Y2, Karl & Info, I think you've mistaken our state wrestling tournaments as your local feel good everybody gets a trophy little league! But most all little leagues EVEN HAVE ONE CHAMPION at the end of their season. Heck why not have a state champ for each class of Freshman, Sophmores, Junior, & Senior wrestlers? I'm sure that would appeal to alot of kids to come wrestle because their odds just got much better to be a state champ. As I said before I think it only waters down the titles and raises more questions and debate as to whos the true state champs, and not just short term because you would ALWAYS have multiple champs per weight class and more than one team champ! Just my opinion....
  10. Y2, I think your goal seems to be involving more teams and kids in the state tourneys to hopefully help make the sport grow here and to make the IHSAA more money. Now I think the flaw with that is you water down the meaning of champions(because you will have multiple at each weight), and your arguement above is a poor one because it opens up more debate and questions on who's the best within the same year(you will always have woulda, shoulda, coulda arguements but the best that weekend are crowned). Yes people will always compare who was the best between kids from year to year, but creating those same questions within the same year is a big flaw. Your best arguement is it may help grow the sport in our state but at the same time our state comes out with one true individual champ in each weight class, and I think a kid from a small school is at no disadvantages because he can wrestle outside his room outside the schools season as many of our champs do. Team state could only improve again by seeding the tournament so you get a true #1 & #2. But again I see your arguement and just prefer our current system, because I think yours creates even more questions and debate. Can we agree to disagree?
  11. As I said your arguement has merit and thats a strong point, I just think if you have classes then they all would need to wrestle each other after they've been crowned or the label of champion means little. You could have 2-3 champs at each weight class & teams, then the debate would be who's really the best and we both know Elvis would knock on your door before the IHSAA would grant us that. So you still would have questions on who's the best team and individuals which wont satisfy most.
  12. How do you know Y2? Thats a IHSAA rule not the school and or coach, also wrestling is somewhat a individual sport so as I see it the best small school to large school kid gets to prove who's the best on our current format at our individual state. I don't think a wrestler is at all at a disadvantage coming from a small school, hes either honed his skills outside his high school wrestling room or he has not! With that being said we get the best individual state champions and with the current system we tend to get the best overall team, but some would argue we need to seed the current team state format so the best and second best team doesn't meet off the bat at state, and thats really the only change I would like to see. I do understand your arguement and it may make more money and involve more teams, but I think most would rather have truly the best in team and individuals win the state tourneys. Thats just my thoughts but understand yours and think there is merit to your arguement, but I just disagree with the purpose of crowning champions and don't want to see it watered down.
  13. EMD is just one example of a team that would not be in the large school division but Im quite sure they would consider a state title in a smaller class watered down! ???
  14. Center Grove is only 30 minutes south of Conseco, so its more or less downtown Indy!
  15. HEY HITEMHARD From the freshman pre-season rankings thread, Theres no reason to attack or put down freshmen or anyone that gets ranked! The kids that are ranked didnt put their name up there, people that knows most of these kids and are informed and knows the sport did. The bottom line is thats why they wrestle the matches, and anyone thats been around the block knows the rankings mean very little and they certainly dont win matches!!
  16. A pretty good workout partner also, I guess would be a understatement ;D
  17. C'mon soup45, that would mean your gonna be giving a team like Perry Meridian a run for their money and probably better than teams like Cathedral, Roncalli to just name a couple. Rex himself I think would tell you thats wishful thinking. Perry could send that number (7 - 8 if they stay healthy) or so to Conseco and Cathedral & Roncalli I'm sure would be thrilled with 5 or so, and I just think New Castle is a level below the above mentioned but thats why we wrestle and maybe they will surprise people. Good luck to all teams this up and coming season and maybe after semi-state you can tell me "told you so", but I really doubt it!
  18. I like 4 of your top 5 but in this order 1. Crown Point 2. Perry Meridian 3. Penn 4. Bellmont 5. EMD 6. Mishawaka 7. Yorktown
  19. Looking forward to watching Jacob at the college level, hes always exciting to watch!
