I agree that all of these young kids are winners for competing and showing so much heart. But EVERY kid has a chance to be a state champ?? Here's to hoping because Bantam45 looks pretty tough for my son.

how is it that 3 teams from Indianapolis are always at team state? I'm sure other areas of the state would like that possiblity, like Merrillville and Crown Point, Penn and Mishawaka, Mater Dei and Castle I agree.

Using TAE's outstanding book, I looked for freshmen above 120 lbs. that placed at the state tournament up through 2002. I probably missed a couple, but here's what I found. Some names will trigger an, "Oh, yeah!!" response, while others will probably trigger a, "They wrestled back then?" response. I also omitted the ones that were listed above. Why start at 120? What about the little guys? They aren't in this discussion?
