cadet130 Posted March 12, 2014 Share Posted March 12, 2014 Unfortunately his season was cut short by a career ending injury. That did not stop him in the classroom though! Sandefer was named a Daktronics NAIA Academic All-American. He boasts a cumulative GPA of 3.6. Congrats to Steven for this outstanding accomplishment! Also, Cumberland finished a program best 6th place in the country. We also had 2 finalists for the first time in school history. Jake Williams won the National Championship at 149#. He finished the season with a 36-2 record (both losses were NCAA D1). Cody Linton was the runner-up at 184#. He finished the season 21-4 with 3 of those losses coming from the guy that beat him for the title...all by 1 point. Zeke Hunt, along with Sandefer, was named Academic All-American. Hunt is also the first and only in school history to be a 2x All-American (8th last season and 6th this season) AND a 2x Academic All-American. Great season to our Bulldogs!
