NW has a shot at winning it but they got a lot of byes in the draw and were underdogs in the first place so I think it's a long shot for them. I think Winamac takes third. South Newton and Caston will fight for 4th and 5th and maybe try to sneak past Winamac. Pioneer will beat Frontier for 6th and if they really wrestle well might get 5th but i doubt it. Frontier has no shot at getting higher than last from what I've seen. 106-will come down to johnson and herrera. Herrera is the defending champ i believe and the one seed. Should be a decent match. I haven't seen herrera wrestle so i don't know who will win 113-The WC kid has looked decent and is the 2 seed. I can't think of who the one seed is at the moment so i'm going with the WC kid. (edit i just thought of the one seed and it's Enman from NW. He should win over the WC kid pretty easily.) 120-I think NW has a good kid here that will win. 126 should be an exciting weight class with johnson, rehn, and overmyer. I believe all of these kids have been to semistate before. Johnson is 1-1 against Rehn and 0-1 against overmyer. Rehn is 1-0 against overmyer. It should be really exciting to see who wins this weight class. 132-Harvey from caston 138-Can't think of any of the kids (edit seems like NW has a good kid here. maybe a hileman so i guess i'll pick NW) 145-Bitterling from winamac is the one seed with an 11-11 record on account of having beat the WC kid who was 1-1 against the NW kid. The NW kid had a really good record and I think he'll pull it out with Bitterling taking 2nd on account of having the one seed. 152-Redwick 160-whaley 170-Gonzales from Caston? I think he's the one seed here. I know he's the one seed somewhere and he's a decent wrestler and that's sadly all it seems to take to win this conference at most weight classes. 182- Is this the weight class with Masters from WC? wherever he is i'm picking him. 195-Tanner unless he's a 220. I don't remember those guys are at. 220-no clue 285 Culp from WC. Too bad Mangum failed off. It would have been a fun weight class with him there. Now it's a snooze fest. Culp wins easily Overall I think the usually weak conference is even weaker than normal. There's a few weight classes with good kids but I wouldn't head over to watch unless I was a die hard fan of one of the teams. coach of the year-probably kenny from WC as it's a rare year that the conference gives it to a coach who didn't win so barring an upset kenny should get it. MVW-Should be whoever wins 126 considering the gauntlet he will have gone through so I'm going with Overmyer. In reality it will probably be redwick or culp since they'll march through their competition mostly without breaking a sweat and have gaudy records and have participated in the conference before. Overmyer is a move in who had to sit out a year and I think it might hurt him as well as the competition will make him look less impressive than culp when Culp pins everyone in the first period. darkhorse might be rehn or johnson should they somehow pull off the upset and beat overmyer but i don't see it happening considering they have to wrestle each other and Overmyer can take a nap til the finals. headlocku Posted January 19, 2012 Share Posted January 19, 2012 106- johnson 126-Johnson with the upset of the day 138 i think unemployed has 145 confused with 138 but i do agree that the NW kid, Holeman i believe is his name should win this one 160-Polen with the second best upset of the day other than those i agree mostly with unemployed 220 WC kid MVW-126 Johnson for the big upset coach of the year-NW as i think they might upset WC (and by think i mean hope because upsets are more fun) as for the wrestling being bad, why do you seem so knowledgeable about the area if you think the wrestling in the area is so bad? why don't you go watch some other kids wrestle? headlocku Posted January 20, 2012 Share Posted January 20, 2012 The frontier kid at 145 is indeed a pretty decent wrestler and has a very good chance of winning this one. I also wouldnt be surprused to see akers from pioneer upset eceryone here. Hes wrestled well of late and came very close to beating the frontier kid the first time.
