H1N1 Posted April 5, 2010 Share Posted April 5, 2010 Is the tendency of northern Indiana towards folkstyle killing Indiana's national reputation? Is Indiana wrestling becoming Balkanized? Just did a quick count of all ISWA and HYWAY tournaments... North has 22 folkstyle, 5 freestyle and 4 greco tournaments. Central has 18 folkstyle, 4 freestyle and 2 greco tournaments. South has 11 folkstyle, 9 freestyle and 4 greco tournaments. Yeah, I know HYWAY is in the north and that ups the folkstyle numbers. However, if you look at the best wrestling states, one can clearly see two things imop. First, they are quite strong at freestyle and greco. Two, their state-wide selection of tournaments in March, April, May are well balanced between each of the three styles. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
