  1. In just the last to two weeks I've seen at least 8 or 9 matches where one wrestler immediately backs up to the line on the whistle.

They then avoid the other wrestler. The man who was backing up then gets ahead a couple points and stalls out to the end by back up to the line and jumping out of bounds.

Made for some very long and dull matches.

I've noticed some refs won't call stalling until it will determine the winner of a match (the 3rd period) while the wrestler(s) were stalling the entire match.

  2. 1. Centerville

    2. Winchester

    Individuals big toss up.

Hopefully we will get to see Williams Barron rematch in the finals...

    Prescott and Hangen both win.

Jason Hale has been looking really solid the second half of the season top 3 finish.

  3. Prescott was at 145 assuming he will stay there, looked much stronger.

Saw some terrible sportsmanship at the county duals today. Very surprised there weren't any team point penalizations.

Great day of wrestling overall saw some very good things from all of the teams as well.

Barron and Williams will be a great finals match up for TEC.

Lets hear some predictions... I think I'll take Winchester as team champions

    Thompson at 126

    Prescott at 145

Barron at 182 (slight edge over Williams after seeing them today)

    Hangen at 220

Nunez (170), Underwood (160), and Halcomb (152) will all be in the mix for first as well.

    I'll have more individuals later.

  4. It will be a dual. Not sure of order yet which could make a difference seeing that for the most part Union City, Monroe Central, and Winchester have a full roster and Randolph Southern does not essentially giving a bye to almost an entire team the first round. Can honestly say it's the first county I've been excited to watch in nearly 15 years. When Anderson and Jones were coaching it never seemed like too much of a threat at county for Winchester.

  5. Winchester is fairly inconsistent.

Based on what I've seen if I had to pick today I would be Centerville winning TEC.

Winchester will have a tougher county than expected Monroe Central is solid. Can't wait for the Ford Prescott rematch. Would love to see Phillips and Hangen as well.

Northeastern did have some solid wrestlers.

Charles Barron and Dillon Williams will be another good one to watch.

  6. Heard WC may be looking to go to Sparty next year. Would add some clarity to predictions and Sparty is more in depth than ECIC. Would be a great move on their part.

Happy holidays everyone and enjoy your holiday tournaments

Flipped a couple around and added a couple winchester guys.. will update more after tonight.

  8. Actually I think Winchester only won one match out of 5. Just checked results, Shenandoah won 113, 120, 145, and 182 and lost at 126 in head to head matches.

Good call. I should have re-looked at that if that's the case was going by memory. Bad choice on my part.

Winchester is at Pendleton but we all know that since only Winchester people seem to post anymore.

But Union City is at home it's their Super Six this weekend not sure who is there.

They did beat South Adams last weekend (south adams missing a few guys though).

Taylor Moore has been pretty strong at 195 for them.

  9. It does was just looking at the actual wins.

When it's sectional time ff mean nothing.

Same with Shenandoah. Winchester won handily... but only won 2 of the 5 actual matches.

As a team that is a win but at the same time I would take that as motivation to not rely on forfeits again...

Just a different perspective (heaven forbid anyone have one of those right?) a win is a win though you are correct.

  10. Minus forfeits the score was 35-27.  Likely that Williams and Dustyn would have both won. Myers is pretty decent too (I believe he had the other FF).

How is Nunez doing and where was Parker?

Would love to see some of the younger guys improve before ECIC...

  11. I saw lots and lots of weakness. I have given them credit thus far this season. I know for a fact they are young because I know everyone on the team personally but at the same time I saw a lot of areas for improvement that shouldn't be weaknesses at this point. "Being young" doesn't factor into wins and losses. Either you win or you lose. When does "being young" become an after thought?

They did lose two matches that I would bet they would go the other way 9/10 times from Nunez and Underwood.

Hopefully both guys are healthy by next weeks meets. Nunez seemed fine on Friday night.

    Handley over Thompson at TEC

I would say both Underwood and Nunez will be right there for TEC

Also Prescott looked really tough on his feet. Maybe some bottom work improvements and he is a no brainer.

  12. Winchester looked awful tonight.

That being said it was nice to see the two guys who had been out back in the lineup.

A couple of Winchester's guys were banged up and only wrestled one match of three tonight as well.

Could definitely tell they were a young team overall.

That being said I believe TEC will be more of a battle than I previously thought unless something magical happens in the next couple months.

Also wanted to give credit to Prescott on match of the night with zeus brown from Muncie Central. Lost by 1. Would love to see the two wrestle again.

  13. Union County will probably drop in rankings simply because of their forfeits. Those rankings mean nothing right now anyway.

I will have a better feel by the end of this week maybe some actual predictions...
