  1. I talked to his stepdad. He said it was just a precautionary measure to prevent re-injury to his neck because of what happened the previous week. He said if they meet at regionals, he will wrestle then.
  2. Well, I guess Martinsville was close since they won it by 1/2 point over Franklin and 4 1/2 over Center Grove and advanced 9 to regionals.
  3. No forfeits? Oo0ps! Yes, two, I think. One was last week at New Albany. He's pinned everyone he's wrestled this year. Only one has gotten out of the first period. At conference, a kid stalled his way into the second period. He looked like he was wrestling free style. The ref did nothing to make him actively try to escape.
  4. maybe not after he gets pinned by myers Runyan is amazing and should certainly be much higher than 10th. His problem is, he isn't from "the region." Bring on the boos. he issnt from the region hes from a region though- the region of kentucky in indiana. its ok i used to live in paragon so i cant say that. but the reason i dont think he is higher is becuase he hasnt had much quality mat time so far, this year. Part of the lack of quality competition for Runyan is that the schools who have quality to put against him on our schedule have chosen to avoid him. Several schools (not naming names) that Martinsville has faced on Saturday multiple dual meets have sent out underclassemen to face him then wrestled their main man against the other teams there...assuming to protect their records for sectional seeding. Others have simply forfeited. Runyan bumped up last week just to get another match. My son, Joe, is a freshman wrestling at 171 (a little light at that). He's pretty good, but has stumbled against some of the "men" he's faced. He practices with Runyan every day. In his words, no one he's faced this year is any where close to Runyan. Joe lost to Tanner Wedding 11 - 1 at the Memorial tournament in December and has faced some other quality wrestlers and is 21 - 11. Although it's not a stellar record, we're proud of what he's done as a freshman in a tough weight class and are anxious to see what happens this weekend. Bottom line...Joe has a season's worth of direct experience with Runyan. Runyan is the real deal. I was just stirring the pot a little with the "region" comment. I know several very formidable wrestlers from that area. Couldn't resist chucking a grenade into the room to see what happened.

  6. I, too, wish to say thank you. I'm sure that this kind of effort is underappreciated.
  7. Yes, it's true. He's been at Camp Atterbury for a while now and is scheduled to be deployed soon.
  8. Nobody's fighting anything. I just stated the fact that we (yes, we, I have a son on the team) had two wrestlers that didn't make weight. We lost. Things may be different at sectional. We will have to wait and see. I guess I'm a newcomer and shouldn't get involved in your private little playground...huh? Thanks for the warm welcome...
  9. We had two wrestlers that didn't make weight for the conference tournament. Otherwise, we could have have had a shot to win the conference. edited: revision in italics
  10. Joe Schoolcraft is 21 - 11 at 171 this year (wrestled 160 at duals last year) Jacob Underwood is above 500 with 18 wins at 152, but I don't know how many losses. Both seem to be peaking at the right time. We'll see how things go this weekend.
