  1. Again no offence to Adams or Olsen but I dont see the point in wrestling a guy up to 113 that is " a small 106" The kid is good but he wasnt having his best day and really was push around at 113. I wish the kid the best and he showed heart despite the size diffence but it would have been nice to see what whould have happened with him and Johnson.
  2. Another good match was Ferdig and Derick Fowler. It was close until the buzzer went off on the mat next to them and both wrestlers thought their round was over. Fowler let Ferdig go but Ferdig noticed there there was still 20 seconds left and jumped On Folwer before he knew what was going on. got his 1 escape, 2 takedown and 3 near fall all before the end of the round. Fowler never recovered and Ferdig got him half way through the next round. Fowler didnt look the same for the rest of the match after the buzzer mistake. He will recover but I would have liked to see how close the match was and what exactly would have happened if the Buzzer thing hadnt happened.
  3. Yeah Johnson was on fire saturday. They Bumped Olsen up thinking that he would beat our 113 (Justin Stephens). No offence to Adams or Olsen But Stephens destroyed him. Just incase anyone was wondering if Stephens got lucky and caught Olsen, it didnt happen. He was incontrol of the whole match and stuck him. It was a great match to watch and really brought the team together... If Washington would stop giving up 4 matches to every team we would be really tough

  6. Yes this is the same South Bend Washinton team that lost to St Joe and Penn's JV at lake Central. It is also the same South Bend Washington team that has been plagued with injuries and has had to give away four forfeit every match. It is also the Same South Bend Washington team that is getting healthy and even though we still will not have a full team we are getting tough and will shock some people. I dont know where we will end up this year but it would be nice to get alittle respect, Yeah we are no Mishawaka or Penn. Clay is super tough and Riley is wrestling really well right now but we put up some points on them and give them a run for their money. Just ask Adams, who we beat despite giving them 24 points. (no disrespect to their team or coaching staff) And as far as Lucky to finish 5-6 , Come on Man!!!!! Maybe I was talking a little too much BS when I said third but we will make teams know we are there for sure and they wont be laughing when then know they have to wrestle Washington like last year, (well, except St. Joe, since they got us )
  7. does anyone have the final team scores and or the top finishers at each weight?
  8. "Perry won 57-10 Penn without at least 4 of their studs" probably because some of their guys wrestled at the Lake Station clasic on the Penn JV team .
  9. ANy Updates? wish I could have went and watch.
  10. Willian Howell-Bey SB Washington is going 138 this year and Kelly Kolat just got done with football so his weight is not down yet and he will be going 160.
  11. Thanks, I cant wait to see what everyone does saturday.... Either way there are tons of talent in the NIC this year. It will be a fun year
  12. What about Darnell Johnson (SB Washington)at 106 who went to SSQ
  13. I know South Bend Washington will be there weekend. We are hoping from a good showing, Several of our guys have just got done with football and are not 100% in the swing of wrestling yet but they will still turn some heads. This is a great tourny with lots of talent in every weight class. I will be interested to see where everyone ends up. Watch out for SB Washington's 106, 132,138,145 and 182. I am not sure where Kolat and Bates are wrestling at for this tourny but they will me tough whereever they are. (maybe 160 and 170 for this tourny) All these guys mentioned should place no less then third.... I hope!!!
  14. Good luck to you and your team as well Mr. Gallegos. I am sure you will do great things this year and your team will be no pushover but I am excited to match up against you guys. I know coach Tony is ready for it as well
  15. Just incase someone read my last post and is offended by it , I want to make it clear that I mean no disrespect to anyone or team out there. I am just saying that Washington is not going to be a door mat this year and they will shock alot of teams out there. There are stud wrestlers at several Schools in the South Bend area but when it come to South Bend schools, I think Washington has a Super solid team and will beat Clay, Adams, Riley, and St. joe. Making them the Best team in the city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Ok, you heard it hear first. South Bend Washington, who only had 7 wrestlers last year, will beat every South Bend School (including Clay) and finish no less then thrid in the NIC/ sectionals. The team has a total different mindset from last year and has been working hard. As soon as football is over and the rest of the guys get into the wrestling room people will see what I am talking about. I seriouly look for them to have 4 to 6 kids make it to state.... Houston Anderson is a beast at 182 and Derek Fowler will be super tough at 132 ( one of the hardest weight classes at this semi state.) Kelly Kolat should be tough again at 152.
