That would be amazing if he can pull off the support needed to sustain the program for several more years to come.

If you aren't the best there is a reason for it, you SUCK!
Well way to go an steal the quote we were going to put on the back of our team shirts next year. Thats two years in a row someone's taken my shirt design idea.

We teach our kids to please try not to display frustrations in front of others in the gym. As emotional as he was at the time, I'd say a dead sprint was a pretty good choice! That was a pretty horrible situation for both boys, in my opinion.
We has some people sitting besides us that looked at me when he was running out. I told them at least he made the smart and mature choice to find a hallway or corner to let the frustration out in instead of the other possible alternatives.

Warren has never taken a Team to Disney before are they doing so this year?
Sorry I was actually iffy on if it was Warren or Penn. I guess I should have went with Penn.

Much of the cost depends on what all you need, where you are staying, etc. Some teams have equiptment cost such as singlets while other have singlet they loan out. Some teams make a vacation out of it and stay someplace where they can relax a little afterward while other teams try to find someplace a little cheaper to save on the travel costs. Perry, Yorktown, Warren Central (Penn), Columbus East, Hoosier Elite Club and a few other teams have made more than one trip down there. You may want to try contacting them for more information.
If I remember from talking to some other coaches a moritorium weeks falls during a portion of Disney Duals. If thats is the case a Indiana high school coach is should not be having contact with his wrestlers per IHSAA rules. A club coach or some other person would need to take the lead in that instance.

If my memory is correct, Blake was 130.
You are correct sir.

Evansville SS is by far the worst when it comes to letting the rest of us know what's going on down there.
Hey you beat by by 1 point, so you'll survive Dec.

Illinois' big school state champs are always national caliber at each weight. Especially when the event is in Illinois, they are loaded. Not saying we won't or can't win. Just saying they're a great wrestling state.
I'm wondering if Illinois trying to get its top guys will be hindered by the Dream Team Dual meet being against IL this year.

A list of wrestlers who's freshman year by itself could stand on its own as one of the best season in Indiana history. Not the usual list of all-time great careers that usually are listed because of a solid freshman year and a unbelievable sophmore to senior run. Basically , who was way ahead of their time as a freshman when it came to wrestling against the upper classman? Obviously the 4-timers would be worth mentioning since being a freshman state champ qualifies as a steller season. I'm sure a few of the most recent ones shouldn't be hard to come up with but some of the old timers would have to chime in for some other names.
Getting the 4x State Champions out of the way:
Estil Ritter, Bloomington
Willard Duffy, Muncie Central
Howard Fisher, South Bend Central
Lance Ellis, Indianapolis Cathedral
Blake Maurer, Evansville Mater Dei
Alex Tsirtsis, Griffith
Angel Escobedo, Griffith

The only issue I have with this argument of which semi-state is better is that it only used the very top level guys to compare them. I know using state date is the only easy way to do it, but it does not show the true depth of those areas. To do that you would need to look at the over all talent pool of good athlete in each semi-state for instance not just the elite ones that make state. While those results may still put an area like MV at the top it would give a much more well rounded idea of the total strenght of a semi-state area.

I am just curious how all those teams have 10-15 coaches.
It's funny in many areas how coaches just start coming out of the woodwork when the program starts to really rise, but they are much harder to find during the other time.

I've nicknamed matball "Super Deathball 3000" for all the extremely close calls you see of someone almost getting hurt.

We will retire that version for him, and a new one will be unveiled for next year!
Wouldn't mind seeing the proof design of it since we were all deprived of it Saturday.
-
no cap for the water bottle? this is not baketball, no one is dumb enough to throw it.
I agree it a little childish but we have had paper airplanes, bouncy balls, and some other objects that ended up on the mats in the last several years of state. And that was just someone having fun not over something upsetting. So I wouldn't put it past some kid on the upper levels getting talked into seeing how far something will travel through the air.

why are they not going to do this anymore!??!???!!??
next to the super classy, timeless, excellent crown point singlets, the plaid ones are my favorites.
Have to have a Anderson Highlands school to have a plaid Highlands singlet. They voted to consolodate the school with the other Anderson High School. Though their is talk by some of trying to start a new school district with the surrounding areas in order to keep the school. I'm not sure that would fly with enough people based on the millions in debt they would have to accure in order to make that happen.

I say we start a tradition like the one at the United Center for Blackhawks games. I get chills everytime I go there for the anthem. Here is a link for those who are not sure what I am talking about. Makes me want to go invade Canada as soon as it is over! ;D
Here is a none hockey cheer version of the Anthem by the same guy. For those that don't know some hockey venues are famous for clapping/cheering through the Anthem as a sign of patriotism. However, that makes it hard to actually hear the voice when captured on audio/video.
If you don't want to hear his pre-commentary skip to the middle part of the video.

Include all the freshman and sophmore qualifiers and thats a very impressive underclassman group. At least we wont have to worry about a lack of talented individuals over the next several years.
-
coach Vlink doesn't want them to spread germs
The Center for Disease Control is thankful. ;D

I'm still a fan of B.
It slightly adjusts the lightwieght situation without being to harsh on the small guys situation.
It keeps a good space in the middle wieghts.
It helps with the large gaps out that we find between the upperweights.

That was the match closest to me and I had no clue what happened to even stop the match. I had to wait to later in the day that it was over a headbutt.
We see most have a hard enough time calling stalling to decide a regular match so being that bold to call a intentional headbutt in a high stake situation you would think it would have to be a little more obvious than what I witnessed in person and watched again in the video. Sure the ref and the IHSAA are going by the rules given for that situation. However, it also seems like another case of htem applying them a little more brashly and strickly than you would regularly see, and that is obviously where many people have an issue.
What was the assistant refs stance on the situation or was he not in position to help with the call?

there was a singlet i saw on Friday night, a team Indiana singlet from maybe a couple years back?!!? I didn't know you were allowed to wear freestyle singlets, i thought it had to be your high school, any rule or info on this?
I thought I saw that too, but figured I couldn't have because of the rules. Maybe a lost/forgotten/torn singlet lead to the "powers that be" allowing the singlet since it basically only had Indiana on it. I know they do have some basic rules on what your school singlets should be like.

I know the Bumble Bee singlet (horizontal strips) was an try at something new but it mostly confused my eyes.

For those interested here is the RTC info from ISWA
http://www.iswa.com/ISWA%20RTC%20Schedule.pdf
I was wondering if their is going to be another RTC in the South part of the state to replace the one Columbus East decided to drop. Southwest Indianapolis at Perry and Southeast at the end of the state in Jeffersonville are the only one offered in this area of the state.
6 RTC north of Indy area, 3 RTCs in Indy area, and only 1 RTC south of Indy area. I would love to see anther RTC in the area with a steady attendance so southern Indiana as a whole can continue to develop further.

I am not joking on this one.....
I believe Whiteboards are banned at postseason (or maybe all) IHSAA events.
Well school/individual signs are banned at IHSAA events, but they have some banner for other things like the IHSWCA I'd say a whiteboard in that respect is within the rules. I just didn't feel the crowd helping make the finals what it usually is. If a Coaches Trophy rivalry get the crowd going I'm all for it even if its not an official state championship.

I know it helps the people up north, but it would be nice to have a slightly more centralized location for what could be an even bigger event.
