I have to hand it to driller and the others who made the call on the outcome. I was impressed with the quality of wrestlers from the Mooresville Regional....not that I doubted it, just thought it would be evenly split. Looks like a 60/40 split for Mooresville. Just finished eating crow for dinner! Good luck to all at semi-state.

sruff, It doesn't take much time to put together a little spreadsheet that calculates everyones predictions. Plus, if you have a day off during the week leading up to regionals, what better way to spend it than watching the ultimate wrestling site. In all seriousness...I follow the wrestling pretty close and make decisions based on alot of things. I am an Avon Sectional loyalist but know alot of the kids in the Mooresville Sectiional from off-season wrestling and school competitions. Also, it is alot of fun to swap messages and create a little hype. Good luck to everyone this weekend.

Based on driller's statement that Mooresville Sectional will account for 70% of the top four place finishers...I did some calculations based on everyones predictions. Here they are: My Own - 51.79% Mooresville 48.21% Avon Boom444 - 53.57% Mooresville 46.43% Avon Swimlam - 50%Mooresville 50% Avon Mitsu30 - 48.21% Mooresville 51.79% Avon Old82 - 50% Mooresville 50% Avon Carrer - 46.43% Mooresville 53.57% Avon Wrestling 12345 53.57% Mooresville 46.43% Avon I would be anxious to see driller's predictions to support this. There would be alot of #1's and 2's knocked off first round for this to happen and I am not seeing that.

Old82 Here is a set of circumstances where a wrestler got dq'd at last years sectional, after the finals match. The wrestler removed his headgear after the match was over and threw it to his coach prior to shaking hands with his opponent. Hence, the first unsportsmanlike conduct. After finally shaking hands he lowered a strap on his singlet at the edge of the circle, prior to leaving the mat. This brought on the second unsportsmanlike and ultimately got him dq'd from the rest of the tournament series. He was wearing an underarmour so he did not expose any skin that was not already exposed. This wrestler finished second and could very well have advanced deep into the tournament but had to take it on the chin and try again this year. I could talk about how petty the second unsportsmanlike call was but that does not change the facts. Power trip on behalf of the official. The incident was appealed to the IHSAA but they would not budge. I believe we are following the same group of kids based on some of the posts you submit. Also, I agree with your predictions at 152 for the Avon Sectional. He has been on a mission since that loss! This made him a better wrestler and forced him to refocus.
