  1.  Sad thing is wrestling (and other sports) just doesn't get the attention or draw the nostalga in most areas that baseball, basketball, and football do.

    See Delta!

Its a very sad thing... We couldn't even have our own wrestling room. We had to practice upstairs and then roll the mats up every time there was a basketball game... Pretty Lame

I wrestled Steve Carter at semi state in 1979...

And I wrestled with Rex Brewer at SMC in 1980...

  2. Anybody who watched Harper wrestling couldn't tell he has a bum shoulder. He looked strong to me, I didn't think he'd get beat. Just wasn't his day and a victory over Harper is HUGE! That kid is a brick!

  3. After reading the article again, something funny struck me. It wasn't mentioned if he was attending classes. I would think if he was working out in the wrestling room, he'd be attending classes. So if he is attending classes, he's doing his part of the deal. Who dropped the ball here?

  4. I think someone has already made mention on this post, that some of the state's best 103 pounders have trouble getting up to 103. So I feel it's all relative.

Who was mentioned and what is all relative?

I think it was Brooks for one. As far as relative goes, most teams (Obviously not Mishawaka) have  problems filling any weight class with state contenders ever year, let alone a 103 pounder. Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw.

I know I'm missing a few but it's late and I'm going to bed.

I was on the Southwestern Michigan wrestling team with Ron Skimehorn and Coy Gilland (you might want to add him to your dream team)  in 1980. Had a lot of fun with them! If you know or see these guys xBrick132, tell them that Jim Crume said hi!
