Gentlemen, yesterday we had a situation in the finals of the sectional tournament. One of the participants was intentionally stepping on the foot of the other participant to gain an advantage from the neutral position. Since this is not a wrestling move, could this situation be called unsportsmanlike conduct? To me it is similar to a forearm to the face, poking in the eyes, or raking across the face. The refs doing the match stated that the rule book doesn't state that it is illegal, but my point was that it is unsportsmanlike. Any insight?

Last warm up tournament for Freestyle/ Greco this weekend up north at South Bend Riley High School. No signups necessary. Bring your USA card and come wrestle. Weigh ins are: Thursday night after SBWC practice (8:00 PM), Friday night from 6-8 PM, Saturday morning from 7-8 AM, or by satellite weigh in to bflatt4569@hotmail.com before Friday night at 8PM. Check in for satellite weigh ins is Saturday morning from 7-8 AM (EST). Information about the tourney is on iswa.com

South Bend Riley Freestyle/ Greco Open this Saturday 4/27/13

Come to South Bend this weekend for some quality wrestling. Many area volunteers will be there to help with pairings, several "blue shirts" have committed to referee, and inquiries from Michigan and Illinois clubs looking for matches. Time to support this "grassroots" tournament. Weigh ins Friday from 5-7 PM and Saturday from 6-8 AM (EST). Complete tourney information on iswa.com. -
This Saturday at South Bend Riley- last opportunity to compete in freestyle and greco before the state tournament. No preregistration needed- bring your USA card, your singlets, and your entry fee and get some mat time. Weigh ins at the school from 5-7 pm on Friday and 6-8 am on Saturday (EST). Cost is $12 for one style and $20 for both. Medals for top 3 in each weight class. Classes will be pooled to ensure matches. Riley High School is located at 1902 Fellows St. in South Bend- just off the 31 by-pass. Take Michigan St. exit north to Calvert St. and turn right. School is a few blocks up. Region Wrestling Academy and Penn Wrestling Club have committed to this event, so the competition should be good. Out of state wrestlers- come join us.

I think the fans should shower the floor of Banker's Life with the funds to pay for the medals during the ceremony. We would of course allow Bobby to keep any extra funds for the additional cost of collecting the cash. An $8 cheeseburger or a medal for an athlete who busted his butt for his team. I know what selection I would make.
