Remember there is a 7 pound weight allowance for this event. Contact: tmccormick@yorktown.k12.in.us Phone: 765-282-9136 Thank you, Coach McCormick

If an alternate is really interested in wrestling, many times IL will bring extra wrestlers so we may well be able to get you a match. Please let Coach McCormick know if you are interested in coming to Wabash College for the event. 3. By mistake I left an instruction piece on the paperwork stating that practice on Saturday will take place at Hinsdale HS. This was from last year's event. It should read Wabash College.

  9. The Yorktown MS team will be traveling to Parkersburg, WV at the end of January for a middle school tournament. Coach McCormick still needs to fill 2 spots on the team (104 and 192). This will be a very competitive tournament. Interested wrestlers should be experienced in nature. The tournament starts Friday afternoon (Jan. 28) and continues through Saturday (Jan. 29). We have been told that the event typically concludes late in the afternoon on Saturday. The team will drive back to Indiana Saturday evening. The cost will be minimal to participants. Anyone interested in filling one of these spots, please contact Coach McCormick at 765-282-9136.

  18. In our second year of hosting this event, we hope to grow this event to 12 teams. We are sitting at 8 teams right now. Franklin MS, Avon MS, Doe Creek MS, Muncie Wilson MS, Chesterton MS, Delta MS, Indian Springs MS (Columbia City) and Yorktown MS. We will run the appropriate mat surfaces based on the number of teams that commit to the event. The event is 12 days away. Those interested in participating should conact me with your intentions to participate. Entry fee is $200 per team. (This equates to $10/wrestler for a team of 20 kids) Thank you, Coach McCormick tmccormick@yorktown.k12.in.us
  19. Indian Springs MS (Columbia City) commits to Indiana MS State Duals event. See modified list in earlier post for up to date roster of teams. Coach McCormick

  22. Next Tuesday (12/21) Yorktown had a scheduled dual meet with another team from East Central Indiana. In addition to being one of our 4 duals this was our designated senior night. The opposing team called late last week and cancelled due to "wrestlers on their team leaving town for vacation", so they wouldn't have a full team. With the recent weather cancellations over the past two weeks, I thought there might be a team out there also in need of making up a dual meet. Our gym is still available and the mat official is also still available. If there is a team interested in making the trip to Yorktown (west side of Muncie) this Tuesday, we would very much appreciate the competition. If interested, please contact Trent McCormick at 765-282-9136. Thank you, Coach McCormick
  23. The following is a list of hotels that are located along HWY 332 (locally known as McGalliard Rd.). These hotels are located on the northwest side of Muncie thereby situating them about 7 minutes north of Yorktown. Days Inn 765-288-2311 Holiday Inn Express 765-289-4678 Lees Inn 765-282-7557 Signature Inn 765-284-4200 Super 8 Motel 765-286-4333 Hampton Inn (new) 765-288-8500 Comfort Inn 765-587-0294 My recommendation to teams staying overnight for the Middle School State Duals at Yorktown would be to either stay at one of the hotels located on the northwest side of Muncie or stay in one of the hotels along I-69 (Anderson/Chesterfield) if you are coming from the south (about 20 minutes from Yorktown Middle School). These are the safest areas to stay that are in close proximity to Muncie/Yorktown. Coach McCormick
  24. Add Delta MS to the roster of teams for this event.
  25. Muncie Wilson and Chesterton commit to 2011 Indiana Middle School State Duals.
