  2. MD seems to be building some momentum and wrestled above their seeds this weekend. Good finish! 1. Archbishop Moeller 215.5 2. Mater Dei 168.5 3. Elder 167.5 4. Beavercreek 151.5 5. Lakota West 139.0 6. Reynoldsburg 126.0 7. Mason 114.0 8. Oak Hills 97.5 9. St. Xavier 91.5 10. Lakota East 61.0 11. Hamilton 45.0
  3. Adding to my random thoughts: - Reitz finished 9-0 - Reitz weight class champions -> 103, 112, 119, 125, 140, 160 - Outstanding wrestler -> Reitz 119 Alex Johns - 6 pins - 2 techs - 1 FF - Union Co. -> Caleb Ervin 135 - very physical and technically sound! - Union Co. -> Aaron Carr 130 - same as above! - Tell City legit at 189 & 215 - Southridge looks good in the middle weights - 152 & 160 and appear to have a very good weightlifting program. - Again, Harrison did a great job of keeping the tournament on track even with the power failure. Wrestling never stopped!
  4. Info is on www.trackwrestling.com I know MD still have all but 4 wrestlers in the winners bracket - 103, 112, 119, and 130
  5. Random thoughts: - Reitz won all 4 duals with a combined total of 236 - 44. The closest margin being Memorial 38-19 - Trinity did not bring their top 3 wrestlers which was dissapointing (apparently, they went to the Beast of the East tournament). I think everyone was looking forward to the 103 match-ups with Kuhn, Hall, and Fahy. 119 Johns and Bradbury. - Kuhn beat Hall 13-8 in a good match. These guys will likely battle at least 4 more times this season. - Memorial's big guys are still not in Wrestling shape and it showed - they will be tough however. - Union county is a fun team to watch - their fans, wrestlers, and coaches really get into it. Isaac Ervin did not wrestle which will likely hurt them in duals against Memorial (round 6) and Reitz (round 10) later today. - It was difficult to watch all the action with 5 mats going but the wrestlers that stood out (IMO) were for Reitz: 103 Kuhn, 119 Johns, 125 Rueger, and 160 Ritter. Memorial: 135 Dehaven and 171 Wedding. Heritage Hills: 152 Weiss. There were others but like I said it was tough to keep track. - Harrison did a nice job of keeping the tournament moving with just a 5 minutue break between each round. Getting 4 rounds in on a weeknight is a challenge.
  6. 103 at Harrison this weekend will be interesting: Kuhn, Hall, and Fahy from Louisville Trinity - ranked 21st in the nation.
  7. While researching the teams in the upcoming Evansville Harrison 10-way tournament this weekend - I couldn't help but notice the Dream Schedule of Louisville Trinity. Harrison 10-way -> This weekend Beast of the East -> Next weekend Mater Dei Classic -> 12/29 & 12/30 That's a ton of high quality matches in the next 3 weeks.
  8. It's just my opinion that Castle has the better team - and the better team doesn't always win. For example, Reitz beating Mater Dei in basketball Friday night!!! Not too many people saw that coming either. MD will always give their best effort. For some reason, Castle was not at their best on Saturday and (like I said above) after losing the 112 match the momentum swung heavily toward the cats. To beat MD you have to win the matches in which you're favored and get some unexpected wins. Historically, MD is favored in most weight classes - I don't see that as the case this year. However, they were the ones getting the unexpected wins on Saturday.
  9. The buzz around the gym after MD stuggled with Jeffersonville was that Castle would likely take the dual with MD. My take-a-way from today is that Jeffersonville is a solid team that just needs some conditioning in a few weight classes and MD always finds a way to win the close matches. I still think Castle is the better team but they were dominated on the scoreboard by MD. The SIAC tourney should be interesting with Reitz having some clear favorites at the lower weights and Castle at the upper weights - with MD, North, Harrison, Castle, Reitz, and Memorial scattered about for the remainder of the spots. The swing match with MD/Castle was at 112 with May (MD- JV) pinning Brown from Castle. You could just feel the air coming out of the Castle team and fans - this was likely a 9 to 12 point swing.
  10. jslrhs607, Call me Saturday morning - I plan to go to Castle. I can't make the trip to Zionsville.
  11. Reitz will be there. The REitz Hill classic was last weekend.
  12. Potential match-ups at 160 with Ritter (Reitz) Weis (Heritage Hills) - 119 Johns (Reitz) Duran or Stotridge (Charlestown) Chambers (Jasper)
  13. Rotation for Hill Classic (Evansville Reitz) 8-team Tournament December 5th and December 6th, 2008 1. Bosse 2. Central 3. Paducah Tilghman 4. Heritage Hills 5. Terre haute North 6. Jasper 7.
