Mat 1 Hemmelgarn and Dajani exchanged escapes, 1-1 heading to OT...now double OT....Hemmelgarn close to a single by the edge of the mamt Mat 2 Wagner gets a quick fall against Cress Woods up 5-0 over Thacker in the 3rd....controlling the match impressively. Woods bleeding now in the 3rd.

Mat 1 Joest down to start the 3rd...reversal for JOest, leads 4-2 with 1:20 to go. Joest pulling away now 8-3, 30 secs left. Schoolcraft mounts a valiant comeback, but Joest hangs on to win 9-8 Mat 2 Morales really impressing on his feet....another TD, puts Anglin on his back, opening it up now 11-4. Morales getting better and better as season goes on...now leads 13-5, in control. 15-8, wins 19-8

Mat 1 Faulkenberg and the much smaller Potosky up now. QUick TD for Faulk. Ritter wrestler looking to turn the smaller CP opponent. He does. 5-0 to start the 3rd. Fault dominates 2nd period, gets the fall Mat 2 Lots of scrambles and reversals, each rolled the other to their back quickly, but Bates up 8-6 with 45 secs left. Luginbill deep on a shot, Bates scrambling to avoid TD. Locked hands called on Bates, now 8-7...Luginbill running out of time....gets an esc, and almost a reversal, with 1 sec left...8-8 heading to OT

On my last post, I meant EMD as a team looking like a champ, not Kempf specifically. Mat 1 Esc. Kral, another TD for Scott, looking for a cradle, can't get it, but still leads 4-1. Neutral to start the 3rd, Scott very nearly another TD by edge of the mat. 4-1 with 1 minute to go. Scott really dominated this one, despite the late TD for Kral....Scott beats the #2 wrestler 4-3 Mat 2 Bates with the only TD in the first period, leads 2-0. Luginbill down to start 2nd. Bates riding hard. 1:15 left in 2nd. Reversal Luginbill, then reversal Bates, 4-2, then a late esc, 4-3 to start the 3rd.

Mat 1 Kral and Scott up. Scott leads 2-0 to start the 2nd. Kral down, Scott riding Mat 2 Late spladle for Kempf gives him t he upset, comeback win. EMD looking like a possible state champ tonight. New Castle bites the dust again. Scott looked to be in firm control, but Kempf sprung the trap and won in a clutch maneuver.

Mat 1 Schrader and Johnson up. SO far, Schrader defending well. Johnson gets a TD with 18 secs left., esc Schrader. 2-1 to start the 2nd. Schrader down, gets the escape to tie it up, 2-2. Schrader competing hard. Another TD for Johnson, Schrader working hard. Johnson locks up cradle, gets the fall. Impressive job by JOhnson. Mat 2 Reversal for Scott, then a Kempf esc, Scott leads 4-1. Scott uses his inhaler, still leads 4-1 in the 2nd. 3rd period, Kempf down, escapes, trails 4-2.

Agreed about Jolas. He very nearly got jobbed. Weirdly officiated match to say the least. Mat 1 Warman in on a single, can't finish it. 12 seconds left. Blood time for Howard....Warman running out of opportunities. Late TD for Howard-ANderson, wins 6-3. ANother Perry kid is gone. Mat 2 Scott with a quick TD, leads 2-0....riding with 30 secs left. Scott controlling from top, leads 2-0 to start the 2nd.

Mat 1 30 secs left in the 2nd, still 3-1 Howard...not much action on their feet. 3-1 to start the 3rd, Warman down, out pretty quickly, gets a reversal...ties it at 3-3. Esc Howard, now injury time, Howard leads 4-3 Mat 2 A great match, deep in OT. Jolas has initiated most of the action, but hasn't been able to seal the deal....a flurry by the edge of the mat at the end of the period, Jolas looks like he had it again. Some tough officiating against Jolas considering Kemper's only point has been on a stall penalty. Still 1-1 On the mat, Kemper down, JOlas riding, last second reversal for Kemper to lead 3-1. Jolas down now, escapes, trails 3-2, pushing the action, beautiful slideby for the TD and the WIN! Maybe the best match of the first round, both kids fought their hearts out, but IMO Jolas deserved it more.

Howard-ANderson with a 1st period TD, esc Warman, 2-1 for the Yorktown wrestler. 2nd period Howard down, esc, leads 3-1, Warman needs to pick up the pace. Mat 2 Stall penalty on Jolas, ties it at 1-1, JOlas deep on a single....by the edge of the mat, looked like he had it with 6 seconds left, but the ref inexplicably says no...tied 1-1 with 6 secs left in the match....looking like OT. Yes, we are in OT

Mat 1 Esc Wilson, trails 6-5....30 secs left needs a TD. Shoots a single, Mote stalls his way out of bounds, gets a warning....HUGE, late TD for WIlson to WIN it in spectacular fashion. Looked like Mote ran out of gas a bit and Wilson never quit fighting. Great win for Wilson, painful lost for Mote. Mat 2 Scoreless thru 1. Kemper down, Jolas has both legs in and is chopping wood on top. Kemper doesn't look like he's having a good time on bottom.

Mat 1 Wilson trails Mote 5-3 to start the 2nd...esc. Wilson, 5-4, back to neutral...fixed the score, we are at 4-4 to start the 3rd. Mote down to start the 3rd, reverses Wilson to lead 6-4 Mat 2 Corsaro all over Dodson, leading 10-2 early in the 2nd. Looks phenomenal this postseason, on his feet and on the mat. Using a variety of tilts and takedowns and making a very good opponent look average. Corsaro looking for the fall......gets 3 backs for the Tech Fall, 18-2. Very, very impressive for Corsaro Kemper and Jolas up now in what should be a good one

Mat 1 Tonte vs. Stevenson, Stevenson with a TD 1 minute in, cuts Tonte, leads 2-1. Big TD for Stevenson, very nearly gets the fall, leads now 7-1. Stevenson just too much so far for the youngster from Perry. Stevenson gets the big fall. Mat 2 Schurg controlling Damler, grinding him out on top, leasds 11-1. Schurg dominating on top. COntent to ride him out the entire last period....wins 11-1 in dominant fashion

Mat 1 45 secs left, Partee needs a TD, gets it with a slick slideby, leads 8-7. Big return to mat for Partee...19 secs left, Partee leads 8-7, Johnson has to get out quick. Partee holds on, might've stalled a bit, but not ridiculously, wins 8-6. Johnson wrestled a terrific match Mat 2 Schurg with a quick TD and rides Damler the entire 1st, getting a cheap tilt at the end of the period to lead 4-0

Slick TD for Partee, esc Johnson, JOhnson leads 5-4, both very aggressive on their feet. Johnson slips under a Partee TD attempt, gets another TD, leads 7-4. Esc Partee, 7-5, back to neutral. Still going at it in neutral. 7-5 to start the 3rd. Esc. Partee, 7-6...anyone's match, 1:30 to go. Mat 2 Carroll controlling Ryan in neutral. Leads 6-1. Now 8-1. Carroll grinding on the mat now, Ryan has no answers. Carroll wins easily 13-2

Mat 1 Ferguson and Armstrong scoreless through 1. Ferguson down, escapes quickly, leads 1-0. Some nice scrambles between these 2, no TDs yet. Finally Armstrong breaks through, leads 2-1. Esc late in the 2nd, tied 2-2 heading into the 3rd. Very evenly matched. Esc. Armstrong, leads 3-2, 90 secs left. Wow, Armstrong locks in a spladle, gets the impressive fall. Max Dole gets a sweet reversal to a fall. Nice upset win for Dole. Mat 2 Loe just a little too much for Fritz, wins 9-3 Lile and Karges up now, battle of tough seniors. Lile with a smooth TD on the edge of the mat, attempted to look for backs, but too far out of bounds. Esc Karges, 2-1, back to neutral. Esc. Karges to start the 2nd, tied 2-2. Lile looking great on his feet, now gets the FALL. Great job by Lile. Carroll all over Ryan on mat 2. Leads 5-1 in the 1st Having some issues with our IP address, so that's why the posting is so slow at times. I have to keep trying to re-post over and over until it is finally accepted as not being a double-post

Mat 1 2-2, then a TD for Bauer, leads 4-2. Brown down to start the 3rd period, trailing by 2. Bauer riding hard, Brown in trouble....More New Castle under-performance unless Brown can escape and get a takedown. Esc Brown with 1:15 to go....needs a TD here badly. Bauer working front headlock, Brown slow to get into his offense. He's in trouble. Late TD for Bauer, wins 6-3....another New Castle #1 seed goes down. Brown didn't look like he's looked the past few weeks, but give credit to Bauer. Ferguson and Armstrong up on 1 now. Mat 2 Lawrence pins Pruitt.....New Castle semistate REALLY struggling now. Loe leads 2-0 with 45 secs left, esc. Fritz, now 2-1...Loe a step above on his feet, leads 5-1 in 2nd, controlling things in neutral. Another TD, 7-1 Loe.

Mat 1 Brown leads Bauer 2-1 to start 2nd period. Mat 2 Krumaluf gets the equalizer, to tie it at 3-3, but Abram promptly reverses, wins in a big upset 5-3

Mat 1 1-0 Harvey leads to start the 3rd. Batts down, escapes, we are knotted at 1-1. Very near TD for Batts, giving Harvey all he wants. Some vicious scrambles between these two...coming down to the last 30 secs. Harvey looks tired, Batts deep on a single, GETS IT....big upset, nice win for Batts, 3-1 Mat 2 Abram comes out the aggressor, gets a mid-period TD, leads 2-0 to start the 2nd. Krumlauf down, Abram riding hard...Still 2-0 to start the 3rd. Krumlauf on top, starting to look like he may be in a little trouble. Might be advised to let him go...lets him go, trails 3-0....Krumlauf needs something big and something clutch....penalty fleeing against Abram, now 3-1

Mat 1 Batts vs. Harvey up now. Scoreless 1st period. Harvey down. Harvey esc, shows off his flexibility...back to neutral, 1-0 Harvey Mat 2 Davis absolutely destroying Syverson 13-0 in the 3rd....on top again looking for the tech. Impressive match for Davis, esc. Syverson, TD, Syverson, too little too late....13-3 win for Davis, very nice. Krumlauf and Abram up now. Scoreless thru 1 minute.

Esc Forte, leads 6-1, TD Forte, leads 8-1, reversal for Shroyer, trails 8-3, esc. Forte, leads 9-3....gets the FALL Mat 2 Carithers wins comfortably 7-3 over Kern Now its Syverson and Davis. Davis witha quick TD, locks in a cradle, gets some backs....out very quickly over the Fishers senior....Davis dominating on top with another tilt, leads 6-0...2nd period, esc Davis, leads 7-0

Mat 1 Ruberg and Covaciu feeling each other out, Rubger in on a low single with 1 minute gone, Covaciu with a nice sprawl, RUberg gives up on it....scoreless with 40 secs left in 1st period. Scoreless thru 1. 2nd period, Ruberg down, Cova hit with a stall warning 30 seconds in...Ruberg keeps coming close to the escape but can't clear his head...finally gets the escape, leads 1-0, 1 minute left in 2nd. 2nd period late, Cova gets a TD, takes him to his back, wins by fall....tough end of the season for Ruberg, but he will be back. Mat 2 Carithers leads 2-1 to start the 2nd. Quick esc makes it 3-1, follows it up with a TD, leads 5-1, quick esc Kern, 5-2. Another TD for Carithers, leads 7-2, esc Kern, Caerithers up 7-3 with a minute left
