Doesn't that look pretty........ ;D
-
graber and abbott should be pretty good, anyone here giving abbott a chance?
Considering it was 6-5 last year in the finals, I would say it is a toss-up.
-
Calling Richard Jay......
Am I going to have a chance to defend my title this year?
How do I get my free tickets to Conseco this year?

just some insight on 103 to avoid any more silly picks - hamn eliminated moore-roe eliminated bevans-now read this:vore is probably the kid to beat-gimmel is tough --vore beat him 3-2 batt and roe are close garrettson needed ot to beat bennidict -roe beat bennidict -bennidict beat hamn -bryant stuck batt -- vore beat roe 6-1 not sure about upcoming match between bryant and marsh ---- but if you want to have correct picks ,you better at least have vore and gimmel in your top 4 the other 2 are up 4 grabs
lol, once again all of the picks poster here were made before sectionals began.

Sorry buddy, this contest began the morning of sectionals. You will have to wait until next year.
-
Time to bring this contest back to the top.
Of all my picks, only 3 didn't make it to SS.
Moore-EKM at 103
Harper-Y at 140
Spurgeon-JIM at 171
Now that the brackets are up, if all my guys win, I will miss 10 guys. I don't have time to calculate all the other entries, but if anyone wants to compare where they are so far, feel free to. I will tabulate everyone's entries and we will have a champ on Sunday.

Just taking a look at Y2's SS Rankings......
#4, #5, #6, and #7 ranked HWTs are all in the same quarter of the bracket. Only one will make it to state.
Anyone know anything about the HWT from Northwestern. He is 44-1.
-
I would just like to thank Y2 for giving me the opportunity to once again show my pick 'em abilities.
My win at the Carroll Regional will be a stepping stone for a Ft. Wayne SS victory next week. ;D
-
I think Jay County also had 34 compared to Delta's 22.
-
I don't know why we are considering Cathedral as a city school in this conversation. They might as well not even show up to Center Grove H.S. I can't remember the last time that Cathedral won a meaning full match.
What in the $%^& are you talking about?
And who was talking about city schools?..........

DECBELL1 AND STARSAW COME BACK TO POST AFTER TEAM STATE. AND WE'RE TALKING ABOUT THIS YEAR NOT THE LAST 5. COME TO THINK OF YOU TWO BOYZ FROM ADAMSVILLE, WHY DOESN'T SA AND BELLMONT WRESTLE A DUAL MEET?
Match 1: Mishawaka (28-0) vs. Indianapolis Cathedral (26-2).
Match 2: Crown Point (18-1) vs. Roncalli.
Match 3: Bellmont (18-2) vs. Perry Meridian.
Match 4: Castle (20-1) vs. Delphi (23-10).
First off, you can't even speak English, so work on that. As for why we don't wrestle SA, it probably has to do that Bellmont has never wrestled them in a dual historically. I am sure that with SA's program on the rise, another intracounty dual will take place in the near future.
Second, If you don't think Bellmont can beat Perry Meridian, you're crazy. It was 37-24 last time. Throw in Busse at 160, who is probably pretty even with Hudgins, you have a 7 point swing. Insert Sheets in at 130 against Cook and he probably doesn't get pinned (although I think Cook can pin anyone), that's another 3 points. That makes it PM 30- Bell 27 w/ the same results.
And by the way, Castle barely beat Yorktown in a tourney earlier this year, so it's hard to argue that they are so much better than Bellmont.
-
Has Belmont and PM wrestled this year? If so are the results posted?

Going through it once, with lineups at full strength, that's what I came up with.
-
BELLMONT SHOULD HAVE EASY RIDE TO TEAM STATE [YORKTOWN CHOKED]. WE'LL IF THEY CAN BEAT A TOP 5 TEAM THEN.
Your statement shows how dumb your post is. What are you talking about? Are you worried that there will be a snow on I-69? Bellmont is already at Team State...........
Bellmont has beaten their fair share of Top 5 teams over the last 5 years.
-
a garretson better better this sat then last sat or he want make it out hes a great wrestler but he wasnt a 100% at sec or something
that may be the worst post ever written on this board......
at least try to write so that people can understand what you're saying.
-
I thought it was 14. Oh well...good luck to all teams competing @ Team State and this week-end at Ind. Regionals!
I think it is. Bellmont only lost once at Team Semi-State to Wawasee in 1997.
-
That's for sure.....
-
I meant nothing bad about the word used in the thread. I actually just stole it from the Seinfield episode soup nazi. I wasnt aware so many people would be directly offended by it.
I wasn't upset by it, I think we just use the word too often, along with the word gay to describe things/people.
And I am a huge Seinfeld fan.....
No soup for you!

KoKo -- I agree with you regarding the announcer. I live in Adams County and listen to WZBD (92.7) anytime that Bellmont/AC has a big match. Sexy Rexy (Rex Brewer), the announcer, needs to go. Although I wrestled for AC the same time as the Kintz boys wrestled, I think they did a much better job of commentating. They were also entertaining. With Rex, you know what you are going to get every match - He should do this..... In football he kicked some butt.... This kid's dad was great and his boy is on his way..... with throwing in the occasional stupid biased remarks. Listening to the Schulz/Melcher match (dual and sectional final), I almost became ill. You just had to hear it to appreciate my disgust for the announcer. I just wish that I could have been the announcer when he was reffing several years ago. I don't know how many people I have talked to that have made negative comments regarding the wrestling coverage.
Rex stepped up to take the job when the Kintz brothers said that they didn't have the time to do it. Without Rex, you wouldn't be listening to wrestling on the radio at all in Adams County. I have literally seen him beg people to be his broadcast partner. With Kalver out of town now, Sean Faurote coaching at the middle school and John Sheets coaching at Tri-State, there is no one out there that will do it. I think Rex does a good job of being honest and giving his opinion. WZBD covers Bellmont wrestling, because Bellmont fans listen to the matches and businesses from Decatur sponsor the broadcast entirely. How could he not be biased and why does he need to be? I understand the argument with the AC match, but Rex is doing the entire state a huge favor by broadcasting these matches, and I don't think he deserves to have his reputation shot down on a message board by someone that will not post their name.
-
haha, a little information never hurt anyone, I have no idea who the kid is anyways......
He could have easily found all that info on the board anyways.
Brooks is on a roll right now, taking out Latourneau tonight.
After tonight, I'm so pumped, I really don't care........
Although my team rankings took a shot today.
-
Since the Al Smith, a few days after Christmas, he has only lost to Jake Lamb from Lowell, Hildebrandt of Penn, Guerra of Mishawaka, and then Kenney from Jay County in the sectional finals.
-
Does anyone know if this will be on the radio? Would like to listen to it!
I am sure it is on the radio, but their webcast is usually lousy, so good luck. You may be able to pick up the signal in CC.
-
I think there are some real true toss-ups in this match
103 Adams vs. Bevans-Similar records, Bevans has gotten all the hype throughout the year, but Adams had a good showing at Sectional.
125-Sheets vs. Hiestand- This is obviously the key match of the dual.
130-Smith vs. Hormann-Smith comes in as a sectional champ, and Hormann as a 4th placer, but something tells me that Hormann has the chance to pull out another team tournament upset like he did against Zac Leffel a few years back.
135-Busse vs. Rench-It seems like this one should go Yorktown's way, but a lot of people are split on it. Will is much better than 10-14
160-Busse vs. Castner-Both come in with great records. Busse is finally back to the level he was at Al Smith, where he was one call away from making the finals and maybe winning.
These are the matches that someone will have to win 3 of 5 to take the title.
-
I'm going to say that neither team scores 30 points and Bellmont comes out on top by cleaning up in the upper weights.
-
I have no idea what Bellmont has to do with it.
You said,
Obviously it did not happenand then
just mixing up the conversation in hereThe post was pointless in the same way me saying "I heard Y2 smoked with Michael Phelps and they got arrested in Paris last night." And then saying, "but that really didn't happen, just wanted to see what you guys thing about it."
If the coach said it, then we could discuss it..... that was all I was saying. It wasn't a crack on you, it just didn't make sense to me what your point was.
HOW MANY?

Travis Yoquelet of Bellmont finished 4th at sectional, 3rd at Regionals, and 4th at SS a few years back.
