Rankings guy, i like your passion for wanting the rankings to be perfect
Duckworth goes from 171 to 215,
Stein Princeton has been 171-189 during freestyle doubt hell see 152 again
will be interesting to see how Sliga does this year at 189
great job so far

my primary reasons for barlow being ahead of richey, (and norton for that matter) was that barlow had wins during the season over nearly everyone. he beat 3x champ josh harper, beat richey, and the only reason that he did not get a medal at state was because he lost to d'marcus spencer on friday night in an overtime barn burner. spencer went on to beat harper in the semi-finals and finish as the runner up.
I can understand that logic, but Barlow didn't place at state for two reasons: 1) the aforementioned loss to spencer and 2) he lost two matches at semistate to guys that Richey beat and thus had to face Spencer first. Richey placed because he wrestled well at semistate, then won his deserved easier first round match. Barlow had great wins and ho-hum losses last year. I understand why he's a difficult one to rank.
I would add that the step up in quality of a particular wrestler is typically greatest between his 9th and 10th grade seasons...with slightly diminishing improvements in the final two off-seasons...another reason I may have leaned toward Richey at the start.
Anyway, I was just surprised since you pretty much went by the results of the last two weeks of the season everywhere else. I'm just nitpicking. Thanks for all your work on the rankings!
I watched the Barlow Richey match at regionals last year and it could have went either way. Barlow had more quality wins all year. I agree with the rankings guy on this one but Richey is going 152-160 anyways

heres one for thought,
If you are a pretty good wrestler say 2x state qualifier or you placed, which is a better route to go? A big ten school and ride the bench for 4 years with a slim chance of cracking the lineup, or a smaller school and have a better chance to start and maybe even a scholarship?

I watched him wrestle a few times, he had a great chance at state this year.

My senior year we had about 5 girls on our team, since and before then their hasnt been any
Our 103 pounder won over 20 somethings matches and was Indiana's first female sectional champion.
And the best part was they made the season a whole lot better ;D

its a little too early for this

Good job on the rankings, showing some love for the south.
-
The first set of rankings are always based off of the year before weights. Give it to or three weeks and they will start coming together
-
sad to see Coughlin lose, wonder what weight he will go?
Leblanc seems like the real deal, giving Young all he can handle
Brooks should improve dramatically by getting beat on by Angel all year

TERRE HAUTE ? A Terre Haute serviceman was among several U.S. military service personnel killed Tuesday in Afghanistan.
U.S. Army Sgt. Dale Russel Griffin, a 1999 Terre Haute South Vigo High School graduate, died after the vehicle in which he was traveling with several other soldiers was struck by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan.
Griffin, who was a part of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, joined the Army immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, according to his mother, Dona Griffin, who was interviewed by the Tribune-Star earlier this month. At the time of that interview, Dona Griffin and husband Gene were leading volunteers at the Terre Haute Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints making about 40 blankets for U.S. servicemen and women serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.
While a senior at Terre Haute South, Dale Griffin was the state runner-up in wrestling in the 189-pound weight class. The following year, he won his weight class to help lead the Virginia Military Institute to a fourth-place finish in the All-Academy Wrestling Championship in 2000 at the U.S. Air Force Academy. He was named that tournament?s Most Outstanding Wrestler.
News reports from Afghanistan state that roadside bombs ? also known as improvised explosive devices or IEDs ? claimed the lives of eight American soldiers in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday.
Seven military service members and an Afghan civilian were killed in one attack when an IED struck the vehicle in which they were riding while on patrol. An eighth soldier was killed in a separate attack, also by a roadside bomb blast.
According to an unnamed U.S. defense official quoted by the Associated Press, at least one of Tuesday?s blasts was followed by an intense exchange of gunfire with insurgents. A total of 55 U.S. troops have been killed in Afghanistan this month.
Funeral arrangements for Dale Griffin are pending.

Anyone have all the Indiana guys match results, somehow my computer doesnt work when I go to the 32 website, it freezes when I click for results

I agree, Coughlin couldnt make 149 last year I dont know how in the world he'd make it this year. Does anyone what Kinser is weighing?
-
IU should have a pretty decent team this year, better than last years.
157 will be interesting with Kinser and Coughlin, Goldman is right, he needs both of them to fit into the lineup.
One thing IU has going for them is Experience,

I thought he went to cornell or somewhere like that, maybe Im thinking of someone else.

If anyone would ever think Kimbo beats Nelson is crazy. This is the same Kimbo who got knockout by a jab.
the Shivers fight was pathetic, Their has to be some circumstances going on to why guys on TUF are always out of shape. I mean they couldnt even go a full 5 min round without huffin and puffin. Anyways Roy Nelsen should win this TUF hands down. the four fighters so far havent impressed me at all.
For the spoiler, I have not heard it till now. I knew someone leaked something but didnt know what it was. It doesnt really bother me because first, Kimbo is getting KO'd tomorrow and second some always gets hurt and itsa perfect fit for Kimbo to come back and fight.

No Walpole at IU and no Cosgrove at Purdue??
I can see Nick earning all amercian for UofI

golembeski from providence is averaging 22.5 tackles a game. he wrestled 160 last year
22.5 tackles a game,????? is that a misprint? so he already has over 100 tackles
Got to be a record

Anyone know Lopez's wrestling accomplishments?

Thanks Navy for the kind words about Trey at QB. Here is his stats which includes two games where he played only one series in the second half. He has Jake Stevenson who will be a Heavy Weight for us at center who does a great job and we got Aaron Stevenson to come back out and he is playing D- end . I think our football coach now wishes we would have talked more kids into wrestling from age 7.
4 - games 46 -73 886 Yards Passing 10 TD's 0 INT Most important stat.... Team is 4-0
impressive stats, isnt he only a jr. I was impressed with A. Stevenson at the state finals this year, he is a beast for a soph. If his bro is anything like him hes going to be tough. All football players should wrestle. Dexter Larimore saw alot of playing time for ohio state against USC yesterday
I.Creek should have no problem winning out, their biggest test will come from H. Hills in the sectional. In regionals they would prolly have ev. memorial
-
Trey Reese from I. Creek 4-0 sounds to be a beast at quarterback. Hopefully someone can put his stats up.
