  1. Pardon my lack of knowledge about this topic.. Who is going where and on what type of scholarships if any
  2. Hope you found all the weights you need. Best of luck to these young Indiana grapplers, putting in the work now to excel in the future. (Bump)
  3. I was really impressed with this freshman and surprised he did not win State after watching him 1st round and quarter round. Unfortunately I was always on the far side of Bankers Life when he wrestled and could not see all that great. Was the move he hit repeatedly a barrel roll, near arm far leg dump, outside fireman's carry? I know if you change your lead leg, it can help prevent this being done on you, but most kids cannot adjust during the same match. Moves come and go out of style all the time but I expect to see a lot more of this, I believe DiJulius from Ohio state hit this a lot in high school and some now in college as well. Great to see an upper weight guy hit it here.
  4. Larimore of course went on to play football in college.( I remember one year he has a slight misstep during state finals intro, tripped a bit on the mat) Did Kasten start for Purdue wrestling all four years? Was Miles his coach at Winamac? Will Streck play football or wrestle in college, anyone know where?
  5. Thanks for this post. I enjoy following youth wrestlers into high school wrestlers. It sure takes a lot of time and dedication for these athletes over the years to become great in this sport.
  6. There is not much more exciting in high school sports than the finals. I know that there are some long time die hard fans in Indiana. How many years in a row have you gone? What year did state get postponed and moved to another venue due to weather? Has this happened more than once?
  7. The thought of class wrestling just made me throw up in my mouth.
  8. Interesting match up with so many mentioning Micic and Lee. Anyone think neither gets a takedown if they meet under the lights? Will this be decide by who can ride/escape?
  9. Let's keep the focus on the talents of these hard working wrestlers. Maybe someone could put up a poll and everyone can vote for the Indiana Takedown Artist Award after the State Finals. Entire Field or Just Finalists?
  10. I don't want anyone to call out any current top level high school wrestlers by names since that wouldn't be fair as they are just kids. (No matter how good they are) Anyways just like everybody, most of them become creatures of habits. Scouting future opponents is so under rated and also never been more easy to do thanks to YouTube. I see only a small handful of studs that may change their ties ups six or seven times before pulling the trigger at the best moment of an opening. They are true takedown artists. A vast majority will stay only in their one comfortable tie up and not shoot until they see their shot. Which may never come if their opponent is coached right and got their scouting homework done. Good luck to all wrestlers in the post season.
  11. Any predictions? Anyone know who has done this recently or anytime? Just curious. I know there are many here who know a lot more than I do about Indiana high school wrestling and many that have seen more seasons as well.
  12. Sure there are a lot of powerful wrestlers that brawl with head pounding and strong under hooks but but it is always nice to see technique outdo muscle. Not saying either way is better but just my style preference. Some slick guys out there with slick set ups.
