  1. I wish I had two but i do have one for sunday in the lower bowl. Let me know!
  2. It appears money was the reason he had not previously owned. Thanks to Wiggle Your Toes Foundation he could afford it! He does say that once he started walking it felt natural. Maybe that could translate to the mat.
  3. Another very good idea. I can smell a project coming together! A wounded hero who once wrestled would would still have the muscle memory of the moves as if they still had all extremities and a prosthesis would be able to bring back those moves possibly as opposed to someone who was born without extremities.
  4. You make a very good point about hindering the natural movements of the wrestler. Perhaps if the prosthetic was introduced at the beginning of his/her training... I had just thought of this today in class and was hoping to bounce the idea off some people. Thanks for the tips MattM!
  5. I have not seen a prototype for one at all through various internet searches so this is pretty much a brand new idea from what I can see. It would take some very imaginative engineering, which I like. I am more concerned if a wrestler would even want to try one or do they feel like they can use their disability as an advantage like robles. I once read a book about a wreslter from georgia who had no arms or legs and he despised his prosthetics. So im wondering if a market would be there.
  6. Dear Indiana Wrestling Community, I have a question to anyone who has coached or is a wrestler that is missing an extremity. Do you think a wrestler who has this condition would want to have a prosthetic specifically designed for wrestling? I understand that wrestlers missing an extremity can excel (just look at Robles from ASU) but was wondering if maybe the sport of wrestling is a major oversight by the prosthetic community. Currently there are no prosthetic designs specifically for wrestling. I am a Biomedical Engineering major from Purdue and am really interested in what you guys have to say on this topic. Sincerely, Kevin Wilger
