  1. I think i have to go with the 1# ranked kid in the nation at 140.....  Tsirtis  2 time state champ!

Can someone please tell me what Sliga has won?  3rd in state shouldn't even allow him mention in a question like this.  Berry from Merrillville will beat him this year!  You have to be the best at your weight class before you get mentioned on this post.  Cody Phillips.....very deserving vote!

  2. 112,125,135,152,160 are the best , 189, 215 is down alot from the last couple years!!Deven Jackson @35 much deserved!! Sliga No doubt the best @89

Obvioulsy you haven't seen Berry from Merrilville!  He Teched Dillenbech who was ranked top 5 at the time.  Beat the kid from Mater Dai who was ranked 3rd.  Not to mention the kid is an absolute physical speciman!  He will be the stongest person on the mat everytime he is on it!  I know Sliga is ranked nationally but this kid will give him hell.  I guarantee it!

  3. Biggest upset at the DAC...perhaps not an upset but one nobody predicted was Chad Miller of Valpo winning at 130...beat both Cameron Halstead and Al Padilla in a great display of scrambling.  Congrats Chad!!

Also, Buckley beat Garza, and Fuqua is very tough

Was there....  Good action.  Very surprised Buckley beat Garza 5-3.  Questionable first 2 points but good match and justified.

Fuqua is very tough....  He will be a major factor in 103 state.  He is that good!

Also great final match between Miller and Padilla.  Tough match, nose bleeds, rowdy crowd and some good wrestling.  Also good sportsmanship by both wrestlers.

Couple other th0ughts....  Ayersman is of course fantastic but I can't get it out of my mind he is possibly beatable!  Tsirtsis wrestled pretty dirty a few times throwing his opponent on the gym floor once in the final match while up by 10 points.  Also Berry may be the best 189 in the state

  4. UPSET - Garza crushes Buckley , it will be payback ,  Garza has improved so much since the first meeting, that will be the last time Garza ever loses to him . Only way Garza doesn't win is if they don't meet .

Amen to that....  Garza will get redemption there!  I missed the Garza Fuqua match and would like to see that rematch as well.  Fuqua is obviously a stud and has put up an impressive resume this year but i think it will be more competitive.

Look out for Padilla the rest of the way as well.  He has looked really good lately and I believe will be a state placer this year.

Tsirtisis/Wartman should be very entertaining.  What was the result in this years dual?

  5. What is this busch league sh-- I hear about????  If that school tries to pull that stuff at secionals I grab the head gear, take it away from then put them on the mat till the ref slaps stick!  Jesus!  You said man.....  Nobody ----- with the duals!

  6. Yep, I have heard those stories before.  However never witnessed it first hand.  Thats very unfortunate!

Thanks for the info on the match.  Two good little wrestlers who both have a great chance to go down state and make some noise.

  7. I did not get a chance to get there last night....

103 was a match I was excited for and also a bit surprised to see Fuqua beat Garza 13-4.  Fuqua must be the real deal.  I understand he also beat the 103 kid from Hanover who is pretty tough.

I have seen Garza wrestle since he was young and he is gonna have a dynamite high school career but right now he is wrestling 103 between 95-100 pounds.  Don't count this kid out in the post season.  He will be back and be a factor in the semi-state.
