  1. Hamilton Southeastern returns 13 and adds Freshmen Chastain. Very young and very dangerous. Lost to LN in team regionals on 8th tiebreaker. Look out for them next year
  2. Any body have a list of all the wrestlers returning for next year??
  3. Noblesville would have a tough time winning at 135 and 140. Both HSE Sectionals champions. Also 130 HSE beat the noblesville kid at conference by major i believe.
  4. HSE already destroyed Noblesville earlier this year. The big match up will be HSE vs LN
  5. What are your guys predictions for who will make it out of this regional??
  6. Here are a few of Bennet's losses. Moore Fountain Central Madden Fishers Brown Laf Jeff White West Wormuth Noblesville Still very strong effort in Sectionals. Worthy of note. We have been through this already, but others are getting note for 1 worthy victory Should be a rematch in the Semis on Saturday. Both should advance
  7. not asking for change just looking for some good banter between wrestling fans on a snowed in day now days. I love the board and thanks for making it fun.
  8. It is not hard to understand posting a list of those that are still part of the state series. Lots of kids are still alive. I get that. BUT... Because this is the pinned list, it is going to be up for much more criticism then a list from an average joe like myself. You do have them ranked don't you? Just wondering how someone can be ranked high on the list above wrestlers they have lost to. who also have a better draw. You also posted a list of the Pendleton HWt place winners and you didn't have one that you have listed on the NC SS wrestlers ahead of him? Hvy Jake Beasley ? Frankton Willie Henson - North Central Eric Thigpen - Lawrence Central ? I don't see Kinney listed here and you have him as the #5. By the way, I feel that Kinney will get through this Regional so he will have to beat someone along the way. Not sure may teams wrestle the competition that Cathedral wrestles throughout the year.
  9. So much for discussion I guess. The idea behind discussion is to bring to light different opinions and points of view. Never asked you to change, but rather saw others who should be in and others who may be too high and also some who will not make it based on theirmatchups. Never said to change anything. Just looking at it in a different viewpoint. That is what happens when you post a list or rankings. You are going to generate different points of view. Simple discussion is all I was generating. Keep up the good work.
  10. You put them up there so I thought that they were up for discussion? That is what this is for right? Just thought discussions might shed some light on the thoughts you had. I enjoy the lists and have a great time watching them change from week to week. Polls in all sports are criticized analyzed, and modified... that is just the nature of sports and polls for that matter. No need to get all defensive. Just wanted to hear why you decide to put wrestlers in and some wrestlers out. Some high and some low?
  11. Have heard that team regionals could end up being made up on Monday. Maybe they should consider using the wrestlers' weight at weigh-ins from Saturday's individual regional for those who have advanced. Tough to expect a kid to make weight on Saturday and then come back on Monday and do it again. Even with a one pound bump that would be tough. Can't practice on Sundays.
  12. So these are just your projections on the best that could feed into NC SS. Not the order of where you think they rank? Is that right? I have to think that is the case since you have Kinney at #5 ahead of 5 or 6 that have beaten him this year. Some more then once I think.
  13. The Semi State posts are a projection of who will reach the semi states aren't they? Once the list is made then it is ranked. None the less still a projection based on Regional brackets. An example here are the top 4 from the 4 regionals feeding into the HWT division based on my evaluation of the brackets. Walace 1 Howard 3 Janney 4 Melby 2 Kinney 3 Thigpen 2 Henson 1 Deitchman 4 WHite 2 Uhls 4 Cheh 3 Decker 1 Garland 4 Phillips 2 Swango 3 Brown 1
  14. Great job for sure. My point is, he knows who the 4 regionals are that feed into each semistate. Why not project who will finish 1-4 in each and those are your top 16. If he projects that a 2nd at one regional is better then a 1st at another regional then they make it into the top 4 and on and on down the list. If he projects that the 4th placers are 13-16 at the semi state then that is where they fall. He has already projected some likely 3rds at regionals as being much higher then spots 9-12 so he is already doing that. Still has Naughton and WHite getting to Semi state and that will not happen for one of them. Kenney and Beasley meet in first round of Regional also. One of those will not make it.
  15. Yes there are some deep ones, but still only 16 can get there. In the rankings they are picking who they think will get there. Why not pick places 1-4 at each regional and throw them into the 16. Not that hard once you get to 9, 10, or 12. The top ones are pretty easy. The real skill in picking these is the 3rd and 4th place wrestlers to advance.
  16. Naughton and WHite wrestle eachother in the first round at the Regional at Perry so one of them will not be at the Semi State in New Castle. Just wondering why you would not put 16 in each weight class?
  17. Janney did beat Cathedral's Kenney at North Central, but did not wrestle Melby there as he was out with shoulder injury. Janney did loose to Melby at the Hamilton County Tournament in the Finals 5-2
  18. I don't think the blood time distracted him. The past two times Snyder and Grey wrestled Grey had a good 3 mins of blood time. The kid is a sive. Snyder wins by fall
  19. How can you argue for Melby to be higher with a loss on his record to unranked Ginter? Lost to him earlier in the year and has gotten better. He is better then Schall from Speedway. He finished way down in the Marion County tournament and 4th at the Ben Davis Invitational and lost to unranked wrestlers at both of those. There are several in the 285 rankings with close to double digit losses.
  20. Melby is better then #19 but that is at least a start. He will qualify for a long tournament season as will Ford who wiht with only one loss this year. Not sure Howard from Frankfort(27-1) shouldn't be ranked and also Biancardi- Lake Cent. (31-3)
  21. At 285, you have Ginter and Snyder ahead of Melby of Westfield. He beat both of them this weekend in winning the HCC Championship. Speedway heavyweight has a nice win and now is ranked? I think that he finished 4th at the Ben Davis Super 16 and well down in the county tournament? Naughton beat Thigpen this weekend and he didn't get back into the rankings? Not sure about any of those without Melby being ahead of them?
  22. How could you have left Tyler Melby and Blake Ford out of the Rankings and put Ginter from Brownsburg in at 285?
  23. Some to consider for next round of rankings Tyler Melby from Westfield 34-1 at HWT Mitch Snyder from HSE only 2 losses on the year now at 112 135 McCutcheon is solid Not sure of the name Daniel Howard from frankfort is 27-1 at HWT
  24. I don't know who Melby lost to but is still 31-1. There are guys ranked at 285 that have 6+ losses. I think that Huntington North had a wrestler by the name of Mason in at 285 at the Avon 6-way. How about records on the rankings? That would really add to the discussion and the validity of the institution as it has become.
  25. I think that you are missing some good heavyweights in the rankings. Tyler Melby from Westfield is 31-1 Blake Ford is 16-0 They should be there don't you think? Cooper from HNorth is still ranked #5 but hasn't had any action this year? Didn't wrestle last weekend at Avon. Any word on his success this year?
