This is pretty accurate as well. LeCount was literally running at the end, more like 4 or 5 seconds though. Cheap may be too strong, but at the very least...unsightly and risky considering LeCount had been cautioned for stalling. Official could have very easily (even should have?) awarded the point for stalling and tied up the match.
The only stall call came with 2 seconds left in the match

He never discussed it with his coaches because we watched one coach walk all around the floor looking for him and he was nowhere to be found at that point. We saw him sitting with his dad right before his match was supposed to start.
Yes because he discussed it with them before the semi finals round was over...Coach Briggs was looking for the tournament director to inform him...get you "facts" straight
-
He wasn't hurt other than his pride. After the match he walked off the mat grabbed his warm-ups and mouthed to his coaches he's done and walked away. I was setting in front row. He then walkes up the stairs and talked to his dad, then went to bleachers and put his shoes, headgear and a shirt in his bag. Oh he sat by his dad during awards ceremony for his class. Didn't look at all hurt!!
He never said he was done.....he was commenting on some of the calls he thought were questionable...after talking to both coaches they decided it was in his best interest to not wrestle and risk further injury.

FW2006 probably isn't, bitter Union Co. fan. But it was somewhat of a big upset so i seen it as appropriate to be posted.
No just half asleep when I read it...its called being a human...I make mistakes...sorry for that
-
Actually I am happy for him, however sir looks like sour grapes or not I was CORRECT in saying that Union County and Connersville would be a bust today. Phillips UC 4th and Fuller UC 4th and no Connersville placers appears to be no podium in stickville come next Saturday, so stick that UP you $$$ if it will fit with all those roosters that are already in there. HA!
Yes an injured Phillips defaulted to 4thand we expected Fuller to finish 4thoff as well...we sent three to semi state and advanced two of those....I wouldn't say that was a bad day...as for Connersville they had some tough draws...that's how it goes!
-
LeCount beats CODY PHILLIPS 4-3 in semi finals!
That wasn't in the ticket round
-
Well I wouldnt say he is down, minor setback, as for details I can only give you what I have been told:
Phillips got hit for a point for fleeing, Lecount did the same but actually walked out and the official gave no point. Also was told Phillips had a take down at the edge with both feet in and was not given the take down.
Again, this is what I have been told, I was not there nor did I see the match.
I was here to watch and yes that about sums it up! I also thought the reversal at the end of the first was questionable as well

Who the heck does Broad Ripple compete against in sectional and regional? Their 145 in semi-state :-\ thats a joke. One and done!
Again sour grapes...don't hate on a kid because he made it...he may be one and done because New Castle is brutal but at least he is here!
-
Union County and Connersville will be a bust, Phillips the only exception but will not be a champion here or the state.
Sounds like some sour grapes there dude.....you are a serious embarrassment ..your kid gets knocked out..get over it!
-
-www.ihsaa.org shows New Castle starting at 9:00 is that correct?
???
Also, anyone care to guess when the 2nd round might get started? Not sure I can make it for the first round, but want to make sure I get there for the beginning of the 2nd round!
The second round usually starts around 11ish
-
Agreed! Awesome preview...I just have one little question that keeps coming to mind when I read this...how can you have place Johnson as top dog over Harvey at 160the when Harvey has already beaten him this year?
-
Had a discussion with my son yesterday to figure out our favorite round of the tourney. Here's my top 5. what's yours?
1. Semi-State - Ticket Round (This is a point where so many kid have set their goal - electricity is so thick you can cut it with a knife)
2. State - Semi-Finals (The Fights for the Lights)
3. State - Friday Night (I Want to be a State Placer!!!!)
T4. The First and Last (1st round of Sectionals (the long season has finally made it to tourney time) - State Finals (Who is the Man)
I agree with you as well...The only one i might place number one for me is the State Finals match...nothing like watching a kid from your school competing under the lights for a State Title!! I get chills thinking about it!

The brackets has O'neal as a senior.
I didn't look at the brackets...earlier in another thread someone had said something about a freshman from Tri Central who was undefeated so I just assumed this was the kid.
-
126
1-Lecount
2-Boston
3-Oneal
4-Oneal
You think O'neal...a freshman is going to beat a Senior two-time state champ and 3rd place finisher who only has two losses in his high school career??? Get real not gonna happen.
-
Whoever lost to the winner first round is fifth place and whoever lost to the runner up first round is sixth place, if I'm not mistaken
I know that's true for 5th..not sure about 6th but I would assume so

I would guess because of his size...he's only a 113title pounder and college starts off at 125..not sure how big his parents are and how much bigger he will get..just a guess
