  1. There are only 5 teams at New Pal this weekend...Triton Central, Union County, New Pal, Mt. Vernon Fortville, and Greenfield....Each team will have a bye round. All I know is TC and UC wrestle first round...wrestling starts at 9:00

As to everything else...Bizzard said it best....I was lucky enough to wrestle a couple of years with Bizzard and there were several good wrestlers in the TEC. We always rooted for each other. When we wrestled head to head it was war, but even today I find myself rooting for the TEC wrestlers, except when they wrestle Union County ;) I am glad to hear that Union City is having a good year, but as far as competition goes, I know that UCo wrestles some very stiff competition every weekend, and I look for them to be champs this year. They are young but I think they will be a very good tournament team. I can see UCo crowning four to five champs...but thats why we wrestle the matches.....Good luck TEC!

  2. Union County went 2-2 this past weekend. They lost to South Dearborn and Batesville by 1 point. The beat Milan on the 1st criteria and then beat Lawrenceburg pretty easily. They were missing 4 starters from their lineup.

  3. I had three that are all at the top of my list....the first was against New Palestine my sophmore year. We we down 28-25 going into the last match...me....I have never been so pumped up for a match in my life....I went out and tossed the kid to his back twice and ended up coming away with a major decision and we won by one....that was the win that put UC on the map that year....the second game in the same year against East Central in the team regional....It was a similar situation in that if I won, I put the match out of reach...there was one match left after me....I was wrestling the same kid that beat me the weekend before at the sectional....I got a reversal in the third to take a 3-2 lead with about 30 seconds left, and held on for the win....That was UC first ever regional title.....the last one was my junior year at the Spartan Classic.....I was wrestling for third/fourth against Dedrick Harrison from Cathedral....We had wrestled three times earlier in our high school careers and he had dominated those matches....we wrestled a scoreless 1st period....he won the toss and took down...got an escape....went into the third and I chose down...got an escape with 20 seconds to go...I hit a slide by with 2 seconds left for the 3-1 win......What great memories!

  4. I was in the regional finals my sophomore year against David Lockwood from East Central. I had lost to him the previous week at the sectional, and then turned around and beat him in the team regional. I was up 9-6 with less than 30 seconds left in the match. He locked up a head lock to thow, and I was thinking great....I was really good at defending the head lock....most of the time....and when I went to re-roll him he landed right on top of me....needless to say after we scrambled and I got out I was down 11-10 with 2 seconds left in the match and we were on our feet....wish I could have that one back!

  5. I think Union County will still have some good wrestlers. Yes they lost some talent last year, but Duckworth could only win one weight class. I think they are still the front runners. Winchester and Centerville always seem to be right in the mix, but I think they are going to be battling it out for second place. Union City, Lincoln, Hagerstown, Northeastern, and Tri will battle out for places 8-4. They just don't have the numbers or quality of wrestlers as Union County, Winchester, and Centerville.
