Cadet 91lbs had 16 kids
Freestyle state

Cadet 91lbs had 5 kids
Are you serious?
Where did you find that info? I was trying to look up some old brackets and numbers. Unfortunately, I was not having any success.

Open your eyes. You can change the theme if you want. I added two Christmas themes today.
Here is how to change your theme.:
1. Go to Profile
2. Go to Look and Layout Preferences
3. You will see
Current Theme: Babylon Theme (change)
Click on Change and you can make it whatever you want.

Every two weeks.

So Jimtown football says "golly gee whiz we can't beat Penn every year, so we are glad we can win this tainted championship?" Why do almost every other state have class wrestling then? Are they just all sissies?
-
I believe there will be a coaches poll released this Wednesday, or at least that is what Darrick Snyder told me last week.
-
It was scoreless after the first period.
Schendel got an escape and takedown in the second after choosing down and in the third he got a 2 nearfall while riding him the whole period. Final score 5-0. Lots of good scrambles on their feet and it looked like both were tentative at the beginning as they felt eachother out.

Kids that weigh 114lbs cannot go 103lbs unless they work the system to get the body fat test to say they can go 103lbs. A 114lb kid has to have over 15% body fat to make 103 in a legal manner. Not many 114lb teenagers have that much body fat on them.
-
But if that 103lber worked hard he could beat a few 285lbers, I'm sure.
-
I would say 106-108lbs for the first weight class. Two main reasons:
1. The gap between 103 and 112 is too much. Too many tweeners that say they can go 106-110 on the body fat tests. right now if a kid weighs 110lbs naturally he has to have over 12% body fat to make 103lbs. Back in my day when you didn't have the fat test, if you weighed 110lbs you were going 103 9 times out of 10.
2. The growth of kids and people in general reflect that 106-108 is a more natural weight for kids.
-
If you want to go that far, why not have a single weight class? Is the 103lb state champion really the true state champion of wrestling?
-
Why not adjust the weight to 105 but not more. Also, these smaller kids work just as hard or harder than the rest.
Don't say that or all the people that love 103lbs will be stating that you are ELIMINATING the 103lb weight class.
I am guessing within two years there will be a change, just my educated guess.

so blue are you in favor of class football?
To me it is an Apples and Oranges comparison of sorts. I only used the comparision to give some structure to the point of school size as it relates to participation.
To keep the point in perspective, wrestling is by it's very definition an individual sport first...and a team sport second. If the individual steps on the mat and does what he has worked to do, then the team outcome will follow if all are working as hard as they can as individuals. No one there to pick up the slack or lend a hand. It's just the wrestler and that six minute monster he has to tame.
If I had to give and answer to your question, I would have to say Yes - for Football I am in favor of it...althought I think it needs a total overhaul in its implimentation. But even as it stands, we see 3-A schools kicking the daylights out of 5-A schools year in and year out and 2-A schools who can play with the big schools on any given weekend. It's more about the skill sets of the teams and what they bring to the table. As I said, obviously have a larger pool of talent available to a program greatly increases the odds, but every year we see the "exceptions".
To sum this up...as weird as it sounds...do we have a "Class System" for High School Debate or Chess? Or how about Swimming/Diving orTrack and Field? I am guessing the answer is NO. Why not? Well that would be because of the following:
A. These are individual based activities that focus more on the individual performance than that of the team.
B. Not a huge source of revenue for the IHSAA or the Education System of Indiana.
I know for academic teams there are classes for their state championships.

It has ruined football and no one goes to the play-off games because we don't know who the "true" champion is.
-
It said he lost again this weekend on the results forum.
-
What teams are there?
-
The IHSAA already allows that. There are a couple football teams that play up a class.
-
Last year's teams were
Bluffton, Whitko, Mishawaka, Perry Meridian, Bloomington South, Evansville Memorial, Penn and Bellmont
I don't know about this year's line-up, but I presume its very similar if not the same.

What upperclassmen are at 103 this year?
-
Just saw the Tsirtsis highlight....wow was that close!
-
I was noticing it too and going to change it. Your reply reminded me to get it done soon, so I did it immediately.
-
I think it would be nice to have more room for subjects (messages) on the first page. Topics get sent to the second page too quickly when new messages are created. ??? Just a thought.
I added 10 to the posts shown per page, its now 30.

Yes you can my friends.

I will install a few themes, but you can always change to whichever one you want.
Here is how:
1. Go to Profile
2. Go to Look and Layout Preferences
3. You will see

Because I don't know which ones are 8th graders as schoolboys. Schoolboys include 6-8th graders so those weight classes will have some good numbers. I expect 13-14 year old boys to weigh 90-100lbs, not 15-16year olds.
