2006-2007: Claimed the freestyle Gold Medal and Outstanding Wrestler award at the 2006 Sunkist Kids International Open, defeating Nate Gallick, Shawn Bunch, Zach Roberson, and others en route to the title. Placed 4th at the NYAC Open. 5th place at the US Nationals and the US World Team Trials at 60 kg/132 lbs.

 

 

2005-2006 (SENIOR, 133)

In dual meet action, posted an 8 win record to one loss (due to default)... placed 2nd at the NCAA tournament, marking the 3rd All-American finish of his career.

 

 

2004-2005 (JUNIOR, 133)

Posted a 6-1 record at 133 pounds ... finished second at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (12/5-6) ... scored a 12-3 major decision over NCAA qualifier T.J. Enright of Ohio State ... defeated All-American Matt Sanchez of Cal State-Bakersfield by decision, 12-10.

Sat out season training for the 2004 Olympic Trials.

 

 

2002-2003 (SOPHOMORE, 125)

Earned All-America accolades as the NCAA 125-pound runner-up ... Big Ten champion at 125 pounds ... compiled a season record of 32-1, the second best winning percentage (.970) in Purdue wrestling history ... was 20-1 during the season against NCAA qualifiers, falling only in the NCAA championship match ... claimed titles at the Mat Town Invitational (11/30) and Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (12/6-7) ... pinned Michigan's A.J. Grant (1:35) in the Cliff Keen Invitational (12/6-7) semi-finals before defeating NCAA-qualifier Jason Powell of Nebraska in the championship, 5-2 ... was a perfect 8-0 in Big Ten duals ... opened the conference season with a 16-0 technical fall over Adam Smith of Penn State (1/26) ... 15 of his last 16 opponents in the campaign were NCAA qualifiers, posting a 14-1 record in those 15 match-ups, including three falls and three major decisions ... began the Big Ten Championships (3/8-9) with back-to-back major decisions, knocking off Bobbe Lowe of Minnesota (11-3) and Iowa's Luke Eustice (11-0) ... pinned NCAA-qualifier A.J. Grant of Michigan in the Big Ten championship match ... pinned his first two opponents at the NCAA Championships (3/20-22) in Kent State's Jared Opfer (2:38) and West Virginia's Seth Lisa (1:13) ... the 1:13 fall over Seth Lisa was the second-fastest pin in his collegiate career.

 

 

2001-2002 (FRESHMAN, 125)

Earned All-America honors in first season of collegiate competition, finishing third at the NCAA Championships ... posted a record of 34-4, tying for the third-best season record in Purdue wrestling history (.895) ... recorded a 14-4 record against 2002 NCAA qualifiers ... two of his four losses came against Fresno State's Stephen Abas, the 2002 NCAA champion ... opened collegiate career with a first-place finish at the Navy Classic (11/7), and recording first pin (0:34) during the meet ... won the gold medal at the Mat Town Invitational (11/24) ... won his first 12 matches of the season ... responded to first career loss with an 11-match win streak (1/6-2/7), which included six victories over NCAA qualifiers ... defeated both UT-Chattanooga's Matt Pitts (2:55) and Duke's Tommy Hoang (2:45), two NCAA qualifiers, by fall at the Wendy's Classic (1/13) ... dominated NCAA-qualifier Jesse Leng of Ohio State in a 17-2 technical fall during a Big Ten dual meet (2/2) ... finished third at the Big Ten Championships with a 4-1 record, earning all-conference honors ... won his final match at the Big Ten's with an 11-2 major decision over Michigan's A.J. Finished third at the 2002 World University Wrestling Championships in Edmonton, Alberta, tying for the highest American finish at the competition ... was the lone representative for the United States at the 60Kg weight class after winning the 2002 University Nationals ... won a bronze medal at the Pan American Championships in 2001 ... competed in the 2002 Sunkist Kids/ASU International Open in Tempe, Ariz. (10/18-19) ... advanced to the quarterfinals after a 2-0 record in pool matches ... recorded identical 10-0 technical fall wins against Cory Hursbuegh of Canada and Arizona State's Marc Rizio.
