Who schedules their wedding on the state tournament weekend?
Lol...my friends and family are still mad!
-
My point is JT as a freshman wrestled several ranked jr and sr multiple times that year. Lee has wrestled 1. So to make a comparison based on domination seems silly IMO. I'd rather use those facts instead of opinion to compare and draw a conclusion. It's really not that hard to eliminate bias when you have fact. But yes, I would say I am very biased. But my bias doesn't change the fact that JT faced much tougher opponents as a freshman.
You are way too biased to have a debate with! Agree to disagree.
Good luck to your son this weekend...heard he is tough and I am looking forward to watching him.

If there was ever a school in Indiana that has consistently, year in and year out, produced quality wrestling teams, it is Cathedral. In my mind, if there was ever a school without a state title that deserves to hang a banner in their gym, it is Cathedral...even if it kinda pains me to say that (In a fun way of course).
If you are like me in your late 30s or 40s and grew up around Indianapolis or a certain school in Muncie, your view of the Fighting Irish is probably influenced by an amazing hall of fame coach. Love or hate Coach Rhodes, no one can debate his teams were always beyond tough. If you ever wrestled his kids or coached against him, win or lose, you inevitably walked away pretty much beat up. In thirteen years we were only able to beat Cathedral once when we were at our best and they were in a building year while transitioning coaching staffs. A year later Coach McGuinley and company came back to our gym and pretty much handed us our heads.
Today, I am long removed from Indiana, coaching, and only get to follow wrestling as best I can through the internet and a few friends. Looking back and with some distance I have no doubt that Cathedral, its history, its hard-nosed style, and even its controversy was and is only good for Indiana wrestling. I would love for them to finally win a title. So good luck to the entire Cathedral program, past and present, y'all truly deserve a long, long overdue championship.
Always loved competing against Rhode even though he usually got the better of us too. Good guy. Great competitor. He had an amazing coaching gift for getting every last drop of talent out of his guys.
I dont really care who wins the team title, but it bothers me that none of the Cathedral studs (save Corsaro) are actually Cathedral products and are all move-ins. I know you can say the same for Perry and other schools so don't bash me too hard.
I guess it is just a different era with open enrollment than I am used to " back in my day".

But the fact is, as Y2 stated, TO THIS POINT Lee has had a more impressive freshman campaign (dominated everyone put in front of him including state runner up and KY kid) and no losses. Again, Tsirtsis had losses at this point, most notably a loss to Napules.

Anybody remember the MSA days, that section up in the southeast corner was always filled.
Good memories.
Mater Dei on one side and Belmont on the other.
-
I believe Tony Ardizzone has been to 49 straight finals.
Great guy by the way! One of my first coaches.
Back on topic- been going 22 years, but missed one because I had to get married.

AWESOME! More advice! I love it! Keep it comin lol my team has been noticed for a long time now. We have produced 11 state champions and will produce more in the future. My "gladiators" will be just fine. I have been lucky enough to be a part of this program, and want nothing but the best for it. Most coaches don't post on here, so that they don't get into arguments. I don't need to argue, I debate. there is a difference. I also like to stir the pot a little. No harm intended what so ever. Nothing I post on here hasn't already been brought up once or twice. I just like to correct the convo when it went the wrong direction. I'm not sending out a "brash" act, and I am humble, but I am also caring coach that treats his wrestlers like family, ask any parent of my wrestlers. I like to say things that my parents want said, but don't want the spotlight. I don't mind it at all. I care about only those in our circle. We love this website, and use posts from it to help fuel us as athletes. We don't need to get extra fuel for competition, our wrestlers desire to win should push them through the situation, but it helps when people trash talk. That's why NFL players use what is said in the papers. I do want to thank you for the lesson on gladiators. It sounds like you watched a lot of sparticus. It was a good series. I liked it too.
Are you saying the parents of your wrestlers want you on this board posting things they "want said"? Surprising...

Mike Krzyston of Andrean qualified. Can't anyone remember the last time an Andrean wrestler qualified for state?
I remember Brian Swallow in the 90s. He was tough.
I would think Andrean has had a SQ since then? Not sure

106 Franklin over bailey ;D ;D ;D ;D
Anyone who hasn't seen Bailey wrestle is in for a treat this weekend.
Red losing would be the biggest upset in my opinion. I don't see anyone coming remotely close to him this weekend.

Or you don't even realize you are crazy, you think everyone else is just soft!

I get that. I guess that would come down to credentials of that non-champ
What criteria is after credentials? Good looks?

Nice job. Thanks!

Katrell Moss will win without giving up an offensive point the entire tournament. Only points scored will be escapes. Wagner will be in the finals.
I will admit to having a strong New Castle bias, but I like Moss and Wagner too.
Wagner is like the Energizer Bunny and seems to get stronger as the match goes on.
Moss....well he's just a beast.
-
After watching Red at semi state he will have the largest margin of victory in my guesstimation.
-
Looks like Moss got a pretty good draw at 195.
-
Tough draw for Pierre too
Lahue vs Red in the Quarters
Red destroyed a decorated field at New Castle.
Don't see him being tested en route to title #2.
-
Too badKonrath and Bailey are on the same side of the bracket. Probably top 2 in my opinion
-
Would it be in the best interest of the tournament to send some Merrillville SS or New Castle SS schools to FW to even out the talent?
The IHSAA sends the Mooresville Regional to Eville. Maybe they should send Carmel or Zionsville or HSE to FW.
Just a thought after looking through trackwrestling results yesterday.
-
If he gets to wrestle, he finishes top 8 in my opinion. I hated how his coaches went about hyping Black, but the kid is good.
How does he make top 8 but not top 16? Curious
-
Scrolling through E-ville results. Looks like they have some good wrestlers. Who is their coach?
-
It has a better chance to live up to the hype than the person in your hater pic. Take that to the bank!
