Thanks for giving some credit to Bill Hawkins. As far as i am concerned the CP team that won state last year was his team more than anyone else's. He brought those kids up and coached them to be the elite studs they are today.

I agree! What Hawkins has done with CP is awesome. He deserves alot of credit for not only what he's done at CP, but the region. He has help a lot kids take it to the next level with his part at Vega and CIA.  To bad he is not a High School Coach He is definatly one of the top coaches in the state!!! 

Has there been any consideration on expanding the number of teams we send down? I just remember not to long ago Indiana had as much as 4 maybe even 5 teams representing at the Elementary National Duals.

Nice break down! After seeing that, Merrillville might have a shot. Then again who knows I thought Merrillville would beat CP hands down.  

How were the matches at 135 and 140? I was surpsised to see both Merr. wrestlers get pinned. Did Shrug and Flamme step it up or was the match close before the PIN? 

Not sure when you plan on doing team rankings. I think Merrillville heads down to Missouri this weekend, with a possible match up with EMD.

I think Merrillville has more of a solid line up and should pull off the win. Anyone have info on a possible injury to one of there wrestlers.  To close to tournament time I hope it ain't serious!

Portage has wrestled both, I believe Mishawaka will win easily. They are just too deep. Mish is very solid throughout the line-up with no real weaknesses. I think they may be a better "team" than they were in their championship year a couple of years ago.

I agree Macdaddy, this team looks just as good or even better than the team that won the title a couple years ago. I say Mishawaka wins easily!

What happened to Jordan Robinson of Blomington North? Why is he not ranked anymore at 160

Crown Point has other opportunities to wrestle their Duneland conference dual against Portage, they strictly choose not to go to the Lake County meet because coach Vlink proposed this tournament several times over the past 30 years and it was shot down. Coach Vlink choosing not to go is mostly sour grapes on his part. That's not a slam on Coach Vlink or CP wrestling, just a fact, and one that he will openly admit to if you ask him.

I know how I would feel about it! The A.D. should have his @ss FIRED!! Wonder how he would feel if it were his son laying there on the mat in the same situation?? I hope this doesn't get swept under the rug, if this is true that he made that statement, this jackass should never be allowed to work in athletics again! Just my opinion as a wrestling parent... on a positive note I'm very glad your son is doing well & wish him a speedy recovery!

Anyone knows why Lowell chose to get out? This is a very strong and exciting tournament and I would hate to see the tourney come to an end due to all the top competition getting out.  I remember at one point all that was missing from the county tournament was CP.
