sorry in advance if I misspelled anyone's name!

  2.     Logansport, Postponed to Tuesday, Feb. 8, 6 pm ET

Match 1: Logansport vs. Eastern (Greentown).

Match 2: Huntington North vs. Delphi.

Championship: Winner of Match 1 vs. Winner of Match 2.

That is straight from IHSAA but Logan runs on their own schedule so your guess is as good as mine haha ;D

  3. 103 is probably most challenging.  130 through 152 all have quality wreslters.

What stands out to me is how weak 160 and 171 are this year at Merrillville.  Yes, some ranked guys, but none that impressive.  If  you were to examine 160 or 171 at Merrillville for the last 20 years, then compare this group... whoo not so good.  I really doubt ANY of these guys would even get out of Merrillville in 18 of the last 20 seasons.

Really? I am just gonna give you 2 names Lynde and Quiroz are studs and both could be under the lights at State! and I guarantee  they both make it out any year!!!!

  4. The Eastern thread also reminded me of the Cutler criticism by a bunch of ignorant fans who believed what they wanted to believe instead of the truth - that Cutler was hurt and couldn't play because of an injury.  In this case, I don't think people know what they are commenting on but want to think it is a coach who quit.  Why would you jump to that conclusion unless you already wanted to?  The coach seems like a stand up guy who has been around a long time.  If I read the thread right, someone said he would have 7 forfeits.  If I do my math right, if every kid pinned his opponent he could possibly tie.  Why not give another team a chance under those circumstances?

No you honor your commitment I know if Delphi had 1 healthy wrestler Coach Atwood would drive that 1 kid to Logan to let him wrestle. Wrestling is about dedication, sportsmanship, and perseverance. What would that tell the kids if they didn't take the kids that could wrestle? If you can't win it's not worth showing up?

  5. Delphi and Logan win first round with Huntington North and Delphi being a close match

Delphi beats Logan in the finals by double digits on their way to their 2nd State appearance in 4 years!!!!

Good luck to all!!!! I am looking forward to some good matches!!!

  7. I know I am way late on this thread but I feel I need to add my 2 cents. Delphi success has everything to do with the man in charge of the program! Coach Atwood was in his 2nd year at Delphi when I first started wrestling and he became like a second father to me a man I really looked up to! His dedication to that wrestling program is second to none! He started a USA wrestling program there and started getting kids ready when they where little something the school never had, and then he got people in the middle school that are preparing those kids for successful HS careers. He built a program from the ground up and then started strengthening the HS schedule!!!

Coach Atwood is a great coach and doesn't get the recognition he deserves!

Thank You Coach for everything you have done for your wrestlers!

  8. Braden,

It was so hard for me to believe saturday that it was the same little pudgy kid out there, taht use to come into the wrestling room and beat up on our light weights when he was in 2nd and 3rd grade!!!! Thank you for all the great memories and being such a great role model for my Brayden to look up to!!! I am soo proud of you and cant wait to watch you wrestle in that boiler singlet!!!! Boiler Up kid!!!!!!!

    Billy
