  1. We are going to give it a test run. Being a product of Indiana, now living in Kentucky we still have over half the state that has no programs. Turn out is usually low because the non-wrestling kids opinions. We think this may help draw them in. It seems we can't get the football programs on board to support wrestling, they want them in the weight room all offseason. Also it don't help the fact that in the past Football Coaches here was telling kids that wrestling is gay to detour them from the sport and into the weight room. Our state tournament is a joke compared to IHSAA's

  2. Its just as bad down here on other side of river, be glad you guys have Conseco, were using a dusty horse arena.

I took this from the KHSAA website.

Looks like they will be clearing the arena on Saturday before the medal rounds this year.

  3. I know when I wrestled in West Central part of state we average 16 duals a year, we wrestled duals Tuesday and Thursday and tournaments on weekends. Now living in KY they only have meets on Saturday, so you have to choose whether to go to a tournament or duel. The lack of wrestling programs here is our downfall.

  6. Congratulations to Crawfordsville HWT Dylan McBride on winning the New Castle Semi State!  Dylan weighed in around 218 and wrestled 4 guys that were 260+ including the last 3 who were all 6-4 + and pushing the limit.  You were a BEAST todayDylan!  Enjoy the win tonight and then we'll get focused on winning some hardware at Conseco next week!

    Coach E.

By the way,  we've had several State Qualifiers, but Dylan became Crawfordsville's first Semi State CHAMPION since 1985 tonight!

    Congrats Dylan and Coach Ervin.

  7. It will be a great match...probally the best one Saturday night.

But some ask "Can Jason handle the pressure of being under the spot light?" I do believe this kid has been in the spot light for quite some time. He's nationaly ranked in the top 30 for ALL 125#'s in the Nation as a Freshman.  I think he will do just fine against Cashe. We have been talking about how talented the "kid" has been since he was in 6th grade.  So I dont think we can take a thing away from him now.

Good Luck to all the Wrestlers this weekend and through out the tournament.
