Apparently they learned that a transfer needs to be approved, which according to numerous posts this has now been approved.

I am not a mom but as a coach and a dad i am sure they real yorktown mom and old 140lbs wrestler are not going to be in the stands cheering. I have not coached a kid who would bust their hump all year the gladly hand it over. that's jst my thoughts. i could be wrong.
Why wouldn't you support your team if you truly love your teammates. Wrestling is a sport that is man v man, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. If you are a true teammate and you get beat out for the spot by the better wrestler you should still be out there cheering on your team. He should also be in the room praticing with his team, you never know he might be needed somewhere down the line. If you were to take your ball and go home I might question how good of a teammate you truly are.

I respect the Yorktown coaching staff even less for this incident. Last year before team state, one of Yorktown's wrestlers (one of their "studs" nonetheless) got in trouble at school but still wrestled at Team State and helped them to a State Runner-Up finish. The word on the street is that this is not the Franklin wrestlers first offense so his suspension would be for 365 days for a second offense. Even if this kid shows up on your doorstep from another school, you KNOW the reason he is there. Have some morals and ethics and do the right thing.
I was going to mention the "Homegrown" t-shirts but someone already referenced it. That was the first thing I thought of when I started reading this thread.
I love how some people just apparently do not read any of the previous posts. It has been stated that he served his suspension at his previous school and he would have been eligible to wrestle there if he decided to stay. His previous school signed off on this situation and the sports governing body signed off. I agree with others, if I was the coach in this situation I would have a wrestle off and the winner would represent my team at sectionals. Everybody that is harping about him being suspened earlier in the year, so what he is a kid that made a mistake and has paid for it with most of his senior season. He paid the consequences and now he is free to go on with his senior season.

No, an upset is when a guy comes in under the radar and works hard and wins by working hard, like Andrew Rattay did filling in for Robert Boston at 119 today, if you are loosing the whole match till the last 10 seconds and get the pin, thats not an upset, thats plain lucky!
yeah, i think you are severly lacking on the definition of an upset, and you have some sour grapes to air on this board.

Wouldn't call it an upset, he got lucky and caught Rattay with a head throw in the last seconds of the match and stuck him!
well thats kind of the definition of an upset

Some of you Metcalf apologists are just silly and I hope you arent coaching anybodies kids. Watch the freakin match, Metcalf had completely stopped wrestling. When he saw Caldwell starting his well deserved celebration is when he decided he need to chase after his opponent. Now I am not saying trying to get in Metcalf's head and say what he was thinking, but by the time he got to Caldwell the match was over and there was nothing he could do to affect the outcome. The refs knew nothing good could come from Metcalf approaching Caldwell, that is why they blew their whistles numerous times and tried to step in front of him.

Really, have you actually read the message board regarding this situation. The transfer was signed off on by the wrestler's previous school and the IHSAA. The school is following the rules that were set forth for them.
