  1. So your saying that you would kick off a guy that has already been a two time state qualifier, was undefeated until this loss, and his season is over? You would be an idiot to kick off a guy like that especially for one little mistake. He is probably the leader on his team and he still has his senior year to go. And I think that guy is definitely good enough to be classified as a "real" wrestler. One mistake doesnt make him a bad wrestler.

If the kid was good enough to qualify for state before, but pull a stupid thing like that, then yes.  That is a disgrace to a program and a school.  If you are mad, keep it under control and try to get your points, but go out trying, that is a real wrestler.  You do not give up like that, and if he didn't care anymore, then he could just fall to his back, but NEVER walk off of the mat during a match!!!  For a stupid thing like that, he SHOULD be punished, and the best way to prove the point is not allowing him to wrestle at state.  Like it or not, that's exactly what I would do if I was his coach.

  2. I actually thought it was quite classless of the garrett kid to chase him down and dump him like that.  I'm surprised it didn't start a fight or cause an injury.  He should have just stood there and posed or better yet start walked the other way.  Ya just did what every wrestler hopes to do to his opponent.  Ya made him quit.......I think there was a fair share of that booing at the end for the winner as well.  Legal.....yes.....unnecessary......yes!!

If a kid is stupid enough to turn his back to his opponent like that, then if they get injured, its there own fault.  I would be disgrace to have a wrestler on my team that would do that, as in I would not let him wrestle on.  Thats just pathetic that you would give up like that, because every wrestler knows that this sport is all about heart mainly, it all comes down to how bad do you really want it, especially when it comes down at the third period like that, you wonder why you do it.  It takes a real wrestler to continue!

  3. Yep, Big Props to McBride!!!

Also congrats to Miller from North V., hopefully we will see those two in the final match once more for the forth week in a row!

That would be awesome to see them meet again, athough Miller has a very difficult first round match against #2 Travis Thomas, it could possibly happen again, so lets go C-ville Sectional!!!  KSA and good luck.

  4. Found the article in the Commercial-News.  I think FC is the team to beat with NV close behind.

Individually, look for Scott and Eli Moore and Sam Shoaf from FC to have big years.

    NV's got Miller IIRC.

A-town still has Bachman if they're still wrestling (I hope they are).

If you are talking about their 171, he is not very good.  If Shoaf stays at 71, he will eat him up, but Bachman didn't do very good last year at 189, he had no technique, just tried to outmuscle, and that doesn't work very well if you face someone who is even stronger and has technique

  5. I remember on the old board that someone brought up the topic about Indiana State University starting a club wrestling team to compete in the NCWA.  Does anybody have any updates or new information on this?

    Bump.

ISU has a great wrestling history.

True, Bruce Bumgarner is was a great wrestler, I hope that they do bring wrestling back to ISU.

True.  The greatest heavyweight in US Olympic Team history is an alum.

    :-[
  6. Many thanks Vegabond for listing all of the results for this invitational. Look like shek was dead on on the 152 lbr. I enjoyed watching miller wrestle last year. I haven't seen him this year at all but really looking forward to it. Anyone close to the program care to share how he developed his skills. He wrestling style, from what I remember is very atypical hvy.  Very fun to watch.

Well, Miller has been wrestling since he was in third grade, and from all of the camps he has been to, he has began to create his style. His main problem is being in good enough shape to go all 6 minutes.

  7. I tend to agree that Fountain Central will be the one to make it on as a team, they have just gotten the Moore brothers who are very good technical wreslers.  This also with some experienced young sophmores and juniors will make a great team, but we will just have to see what happens.

Second thought, I believe that SV will beat FC because NV beat FC for the WRC title

  8. North Vermillion took home the team title along with there 140, 152, and 189 each taking first. Fountain Central got second and Seeger took third.  I don't know what the scores were and I am not sure who else won.

    What about Heavy?

    And, Congrats N. V.

Seeger's heavy Mukai won by pin with 5 seconds left, just after he got a takedown.
