  1. Are you saying that Crown Point is recruiting their wrestlers illegally ?

No, i was simply stating that you should expect to see some former state place winners from other schools moving into Crown Point school district this year.

  2. GrecoCoach- I in no way shape or form teach my kids to hurt anybody, but i am an advocate for inflicting pain.

JTM2004,am I missing something here? I thought maybe I forgot what hurt meant so I got the dictionary out and looked it up. Hurt: 1 a: to inflict with physical pain. Huh, I was right all along and I disagree with your teachings.

When he says hurt he means injure.  There's nothing wrong with inflicting pain.  A power half, for example, works because it's painful.

  3. They are plenty athletic?  Look at Kenny Florian and Frank Mir. Neither are considered athletic. You win national championships in wrestling, your plenty athletic.

Also Rosholts brother seems to be doing fine in MMA

Florian is an anomally.  Rosholt's brother is doing well, but he hasn't fought anyone yet.  I think Mir is very athletic for a person his size.

  4. At one time, you had to be a champion on each level to move on to the next.

Last time I checked we do things differently now and I don't see us going back to that way anytime soon. And Woodson did what he needed to do to be a state champion and should of been a two time champ had two shoulders counted for a pin no matter how many points you are down.

If the kid Woodson was wrestling wasn't from Mater Dei noone would think he was pinned.  Weinzapfel wasn't stuck.

  5.

What about the guy who wins state, and the guy that beat his at sectionals, regionals, and semi-state get's upset?  Is that guy "better" than the guy who was 3-0 against him that season?

Yes because the goal is not to be a sectional, regional or semi-state champion but a State Champion. I understand what your saying but your not taking into account what it means to be clutch and coming through when all the pressure is on.

I've always thought it was a small constellation prize anyway to say you beat the State champion because there is only one response after saying that.."Why weren't you State Champion then?"

That's a pretty large prize for beating a high school state champ.  I beat the state champ once, I'd prefer to have Orion.

  6. I'm not at all familiar with greco but if the move is legal than ok if not then illegal. It's pretty straight forward in greco you are either going to get tossed or be the one attacking.

So you're saying if the move isn't legal then it's illegal?

  7. You people worry about second place way to much its a tournament not a rankings system. The only reason any of us our there is to find out who the BEST in each weight class is. There is nothing unfair about how a tournament works.

Give Mora a choice between being under the lights in a double ot match against Williams and what he got and see what he says.

  8. the out of bounds rules need to be the same as they are in college.  There is no margin for error here as any supporting point in means you're in.  It's very clear when you go out of bounds.

  9. http://themat.com/section.php?section_id=3&page=showarticle&ArticleID=20281

There doesn't appear to be much done except clarifications, further adding sportsmanship penalities to the tiebreaker criteria in duals, and also aligning some existing issues.  I love the economy thus far of the 2009-10 changes and the lack of drastic procedural changes.  More time for worrying about wrestling for wrestling's sake.

Chime in or not; I just had to express this time...

Wow...still no change of the out of bounds rule...What a crock.

  10. That TF didn't count, it was in an unofficial match.

    but it still happened

I'm not going to say Caldwell owns Metcalf.  But that tech fall, for the record, matters just about as much as Cael Sanderson's loss as a freshman (his true freshman year).

    beautiful comparison sir.
