  1. Just noticed that nobody mentioned Isaiah Bradley. Muncie South freshman probably planning on 103lbs but maybe 112lbs. He will definitely be a threat from his area and beyond. I know he went 6-1 in the schoolboy duals. He is a fighter and competes. Good luck!

I think Isaiah is only going to be 8th grade this year.

  3.                           Ive been involved in wrestling with my son in the ISWA for 9 years....Indiana was considered a "FRESTYLE STATE" when we first started. Freestyle state tournament was just huge with numbers...now they can hold all divisions on 1 weekend now.  Folkstyle has out grown freestyle in Indiana in the last 6 years or so. if i recall Indiana has had the ISWA Folkstyle State for only about 10 or 12 years now. If im wrong can someone please correct me. I remember we had to go to Ilinois for folkstyle when we first started.  Now that folkstyle has such a long season when its time for freestyle (which i love) its getting nice outside kids want to play baseball...instead of wrestle. I do beleive kids who wrestle freestyle are better folkstyle wrestlers because of freestyle.

  4.         Hey ItalianMom... I know track only places to 4th but.... Rex was announcing all day that they would place to 6th place with the 3rd place finisher in each brackett not wrestling but to be decided by points they scored for the type of victory they has in each match. The wrestler who had the most points would take 5th. Rex also said medals or ribbons...I dont remember which...would be mailed to the 5th and 6th place finisher.  :)

From 1 Italian to another  ;D

you said you worked pairings......Great Job all day!!!!

  5. They have got the results on ISWA but they are wrong... they just copied it off trackwrestling and track did not show the wrestle backs or the kids who placed 5th and 6th. I hope Rex gives them the updated placers with the full 6 man placement.

after that long of a meet the kids deserve to be recognised to 6th place. :)

  6.               I know alot of clubs dont want to spend the 125.00 to 150.00 per ref to be there all day. If they have a small turn out then half of the clubs earnings are possibly spent on refs... I do beleive that there should be at least 1 registered ref required at all iswa santioned meets to walk the mats and watch. I have seen a good number of high school wrestlers do a very good job reffing. What people have to remember is that new refs have to come from some where they just dont get good by mistake. These kids who do ref learn and get to know the other side of the game by being a ref for a day.
