Corydon doesnt have the level of success as others but you asked and Ill answer.
It has to be between these three guys: Jason Ward currently 3rd in wins, Bryan Eads tied for 1rst, Derrick Beamer tied for first. Ill get my stats about how far they went and often at open mat tonight.

when is the next update?
-
Less than a month away, so its about time to see some predictions. I dont have all of the head to head results but I do have quite a few of them. Also some coaches are less than willing to report results so sleepers will no doubt arise. Nonetheless here are my predictions edition 1
103:sheppard jeff,lahue corydon,happell floyd
112:smith jeff
119:miller jeff, wolf charlestown
125:stotridge charlestown, springer corydon
130:witt floyd martin new albany, fowler corydon
135:weekly jeff
140:sudderth charlestown
145:sampson new wash,moberly floyd,newcomb charlestown, rickman NA

160:golembeski providence,marlin jeff
171:browner jeff
189:bowen jeff
215:dewitt corydon,pratt jeff

Jeff wins handily with Floyd Central second. So now begin tearing these apart so I can promptly begin edition number 2.

My pick to win is Castle Followed by either Princeton or Columbus North. Floyd should score a bunch of points in the consolation bracket.

any surprises on weights?
-
based on numbers alone jeff should at the very least do well but add in a coach who is one of the best in southern indiana and i have to agree with you jeff is here to stay. i do not think this means that year in and year out they are above floyd though because i think when it comes to the tech side of the sport their coaches are far and away the best in this sectional.
-
if he would have gone 40 or 45 sure you could throw him in but if he is going 52 come sectional time which is a ways off i dont see how you could say hes a faveorite. sampson is back and that kid can wrestle a little bit.
-
christian academy in southern indiana has their kids forfeit rather than wrestle a girl. its a school imposed rule and i know the coaches are not fond of it.
-
in terms of state placers yes this is a very weak sectional and followed by a weak regional. your team predictions are a little off.
jeff
floyd
charlestown
new albany
providence
corydon=salem, corydon will be down this year might only have 2 kids make it out of sectional
-
sorry old buddy but i just talked to him and hes back at corydon his kentucky wrestling dreams are no more. shouldnt you be looking at the southridge sectional anyways?
-
if witt stays at 130 that could set up a nice matchup of weekly and witt. i still go with the floyd guy just to break up the red n silver monopoly at the lower weights.
-
What is the early word here who is going what weight class. Here are the top returning guys at last years weights if anyone knows who is where or who isnt wrestling go ahead and throw that out here.

are there any open rooms near corydon and what day and times
-
Leach of Avon beat Cook at mater dei. Lahue has wrestled some tough kids this year but his best work has been done in the "off season". most all the young guys from this area know about him and his brother.
-
like ruining christmas renegade
-
being a corydon alum i would hope it wasnt dewitt
-
so how many coaches are gonna use the 1.5% rule in this sectional? i know at the jeff sectional its brought up quite often
-
he is out for sure done for the year
-
heard mooney is out "broken jaw" how will that affect things at 112
-
you are correct, and that is the best time to come back and beat someone.
-
he beat duran for confrence last year also. he has finally figured a few moves out and its payin off. i believe he placed high at the old cap also. corydon is way down this year but they have alot of youth i wouldnt be surprised to see some of the kids who are freshman this year who dominated locally as 8th graders last year come out next year.
-
the only times i know hutchinson wrestled was a tourney in ky (north hardin maybe) and old capitol. im sure he has his weigh ins but he record was below 10 matches at old cap. i dont think he saw either of them this year i believe they are early on corydons sched so i guess we will have to wait till the seeding meetings.
-
golembeski will take 60
-
he should just bump to 215 prolly a better chance there

Team wise I am calling New Albany the heavy favorite with their solid showing last weekend at the HHC conference tournament. Normally the non HHC teams help break things up at this sectional but this year most of those teams are down. Look for Devil-Dawg-Highlanders to rule the podiums.
Top wrestler: Noah Franklin New Washington / returning qualifier looking to make the Bankers Life podium
Darkhorse: Sean Brown Floyd Central / very good wrestler in the toughest weight class. Could be projected 1-3 along with the other 2 guys above him.
Lock: Zach Higdon Charlestown / if Hayes is at 195, I don't see Higdon being beaten barring injury
106 The Dawgs get on the board early with their first champ
Aaron Gohl New Albany
Robbie Stein Eastern
Trenton Cunningham Floyd Central
Evan Rodgers Providence
113 A battle I am eager to see. I'll take the returning state qualifier over the future state placer in round 1.
Noah Franklin New Washington
Tristan Selmer Floyd Central
Tanner Smith Charlestown
Dakota Erickson New Albany
120 Jones should handle this weight class
Stephen Jones Jeffersonville
Matt Mosely New Washington
Jonathan Davey New Albany
Wayne Nicholas Floyd Central
126 The Dawgs strike again.... #2 on the day
Romerro Bradford New Albany

Jimmy Wise New Washington
Tristan Dowell New Albany
Sean Brown Floyd Central
Cameron Hopson Charlestown
138 Castleberry and Crowl square off yet again and the Dawgs grab #3
Hunter Castleberry New Albany
Tyler Crowl Floyd Central
